Nicki Minaj looks great. For the first time she's not looking like she made her dress of items from the dollar store. It was a little too much dress for the AMAs, perhaps better for the Oscars or Emmys. BUT still, Nicki looked great and glamourous.

I am so happy to see Taylor Swift look so pretty and chic because the last memory I have of her resembled coal miner's daughter (she was in character). One of the best dressed.

The dress is washing Carly out too much and those bangs are a screaming invitation for Edward Scissorhands to come chop them off.

I wouldn't be caught dead in this get up BUT on Will.I.Am it looks great. He can really pull off the futuristic layered look like no one else. The only word of caution is to tone it down as you get older.

Another best dressed of the evening, Carrie Underwood. The dress is gorgeous and so is she... the close-ups of when she was performing were, like wow! Just beautiful.

Another American Idol, Jordin Sparks. I'm on the fence on this dress. Its a whole lot of pattern to pull off but Jordin seems very confident wearing it and that's a major plus.

This dress is too pretty and not in a good way. Ginnifer looks beautiful and elegant but it's not the right look for the AMAs.

I won't criticize Kesha since she apparently bathed, shampooed and brushed her hair for the AMAs. I won't even point out that she could've used a little bronzer and lipstick.
