Dim Mak Greatest Hits 2017 is a stacked compilation of the label’s standout releases from 2017. Bolstered by a dynamic collection of sounds ranging from hard-hitting trap and melodic future bass to tech-driven bass house bangers (and everything in between), the package features music by Dim Mak favorites Keys N Krates, Prince Fox feat. Bella Thorne, Laidback Luke, Rain Man feat. MAX, QUIX, Garmiani, KRANE, Viceroy, MORTEN, Sam F, Max Styler, BROHUG, Matroda, Henry Fong, Noise Cans, Stööki Sound and many more. Coming off a monumental 20th anniversary in 2016, Dim Mak entered 2017 re-energized and ready to take on the world. Aoki’s Dim Mak Collection fashion label arrived stateside and made its New York Fashion Week debut in January, shaking the industry with a punk-driven presentation. Heading into spring, Aoki remixed My Chemical Romance’s epic anthem “Welcome To The Black Parade” and brought the label to Wynwood’s RC Cola Plant for Dim Mak’s largest Miami Music Week event to date.
 
The summer saw debut EPs from QUIX (Heaps Cool) and Sam F (Electric Soul), while Aoki dropped his star-studded hip-hop album Kolony, featuring collaborations with Lil Uzi Vert, Migos, Ma$e and many more. Prince Fox linked up with Bella Thorne for “Just Call,” with a quirky music video that became the #7 Most Trending video on YouTube. Dim Mak also invaded European festivals with stages at Sziget and Tomorrowland. Around the same time, Dim Mak Publishing inked a global administration deal with Warner/Chappell Music, the publishing arm of Warner Music Group.
 
The year wrapped with a handful of club driven remixes from Aoki, including Garmiani’s “Shine Good,” Oliver Heldens’ “What The Funk,” and “Linkin Park& Steve Aoki - Darker Than The Light That Never Bleeds (Chester Forever Steve Aoki Remix),” his tribute to the late Chester Bennington. Aoki brought the Dim Mak Collection to ComplexCon, where he personally screen printed limited edition graphic tees (created in collaboration with notorious street artist David Choe) while chatting with convention curator Takashi Murakami. The 4th quarter also saw critically acclaimed debut works from Noise Cans (Masquerave EP) and KRANE (Fallout LP.) Closing out the year on a high note, Dim Mak’s premier live electronic act Keys N Krates were awarded a RIAA Gold certification for their trap anthem “Dum Dee Dum,” and the group followed this announcement with the release of their most musically sophisticated single to date, “Glitter (feat. Ambre).”

David Guetta & Afrojack join forces with Charli XCX and French Montana in the official music video for ‘Dirty Sexy Money’

Multiple GRAMMY® Award-winning DJ/producer David Guetta and fellow producer Afrojack join forces again with pop polymath Charli XCX and hip-hop boss French Montana on their mega-collaboration ‘Dirty Sexy Money’, launching the official music video today after a successful lyric video reveal which has already cultivated over 10 Million views.

The official “Dirty Sexy Money” video, directed by chart-topping British songwriter Charli XCX and Sarah McColgan, is equal parts raw and sexy; portraying a story in which David Guetta stars as getaway driver, Charli XCX as the boss, Afrojack as the muscle and French Montana as the explosives expert. The track has currently amassed 50 Million streams and the first live performance at the 2017 MTV EMA’s was a huge success.

With the release of the official music video one thing is for certain: it will heat up the cold days before the holidays.  David Guetta will head out to Colombia and the US for live dates in Miami on December 29 at LIV Nightclub and Brooklyn on New Year’s Eve at Depot 52 Warehouse, before he kicks off 2018 European Tour in Munich this January.

VASSY & Afrojack team up for “LOST”

After breaking into the Spotify viral charts in five countries and hitting #4 on Beatport in its first week, "LOST" has now accumulated over 3 million combined streams. Released by Armada Music, Vassy's new single “LOST” is made in collaboration with Dutch star Afrojack and Amsterdam-based producer Oliver Rosa, and may just require all three to clear some space in their respective trophy rooms.

A titanic team-up, brilliant composition and potential chart-breaker in one, “LOST” traverses the pop and dance music realms while remaining emotive and progressive at its core. Catching fire through the warmth of VASSY’s eruptive vocals only to see it’s burning flames kindled by its infectious piano chord stabs and well-crafted builds, “LOST” proves a song the whole world could lose itself in.

In an exclusive interview with fashionado, VASSY talks fashion, personal style, working with Afrojack and what's in her future:

fashionado: We live in a world where Image sometimes is everything. What image are you looking to portray to your fans a one of the leading vocalists in the world today? 

VASSY: I like to stay natural and be myself not trying to Portray any image in particular but one that shows people I’m comfortable in my own skin and proud of who I am and embrace all my qualities as a woman.

fashionado: As your fame and popularity climbs do you feel there is a greater focus on you and your personal style? 

VASSY: Yes. I do sometimes I feel like just being a bit of a tomboy other times I want to put on my Ferragamo stilettos and a fancy dress. It depends on how I feel; I like to just be true to myself and not force anything when it comes to style and fashion.

fashionado: How did the collaboration with you and Afrojack happen and what's the inside scoop on what it took to place? 

VASSY: We met a couple years back on a project and always talked about working on a record together so it was an organic process and this was the right record to work on. He’s cool, talented, easy to work with and he was very supportive.

fashionado: With the success of 'Lost' what is on the burner for you musically for 2018? What projects do you have in the works and will we see you on the MainStage singing 'Lost' during Ultra and Miami Music Week? 

VASSY: I’m working on my solo projects and I do have a couple of collaborations: one with Tiësto and one with Armin van Buuren & so on... Yes, you might see me in Miami :-)

fashionado: The cover of 'Lost' is stunning. When selecting the wardrobe for the cover did someone put it all together for you and if so what was their name, or did you put it together and if so what look did you want it to convey for the fans of your music? 

Yes I had an idea of what I wanted to wear. I wanted to do all black, slick and simple, a little lacy and feminine but strong. I worked with the stylist Madison Dixon based here in Los Angeles, she was so much fun to work with.

fashionado: If you had to pick who would your Top 5 fashion designers in the world? 

VASSY: This is tough!

WiDE AWAKE Debuts New Single “How It Go (feat. Indiah)”

London-based duo WiDE AWAKE team up with rising vocalist Indiah on genre-bending single “How It Go.” Crescendoing ambitious synthesizers and sultry vocals into an epic drop, the single merges trap, R&B and pop together into a euphoric production.

Ever since first stepping onto the scene in 2015, CJ Beatz and Jordan Crisp (better known as WiDE AWAKE) have proven that they are undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. In addition to notable production credits for Stormzy, Pitbull, and Will Smith, WiDE AWAKE has released numerous high-profile originals including their latest single “Down Up” featuring Wiley. Growing up in a musical family where both her parents and two sisters were singers, 21-year-old Indiah has been surrounded by the craft ever since she was born. Her music draws upon her diverse British, African American, Czechoslovakian, and Native American heritage, creating a truly one-of-a-kind sound. After years of uploading acoustic covers on YouTube, the singer-songwriter released her first single “I Got You” in October of 2016. The track earned praise from The 405 and Wonderland with the latter calling her music, “a harmonious blend of catchy electro synth and trap inspired high-hats seasoned with some soulful pop vocals.” Although Indiah’s career has just begun, there’s no telling where her raw talent will take her.

KRANE Unveils Highly-Anticipated Fallout LP

Gifted electronic music producer KRANE spawns an auditory exploration into a dystopian abyss on his highly-anticipated debut album, Fallout. Through an episodic 10-track package boasting numerous stand out records including “Nobody But You,” “Next World,” “Hollow,” and “Feel It,” KRANE paints a cinematic backdrop saturated with hard-hitting yet musically sophisticated trap and anthemic future bass. Fallout is augmented by a talented collection of guests including SLUMBERJACK, QUIX and graves, amongst others.

In his own words, “Much of my personal sound and background, developed over the years of listening to and creating music, is represented in this album. It also draws widely from not only music, but also the aesthetics of movies, television and literature I love,” KRANE states. “But FALLOUT is as much a celebration of where my sound is today as it is a recognition that I will leave part of it behind now that this album is in the wild.”
