Zookeepers Unleash "Kill My Speakers" On New Noise

Danish duo Zookeepers arrive on New Noise with the aptly-titled "Kill My Speakers," a rattling trap stomper with ruthless dubstep wobbles slicing through deep 808's.

Since releasing their debut EP AMAYA, Zookeepers have made a name for themselves with a wicked, no-holds-barred trap sound. Following their frenetic unofficial remix of NGHTMRE and Boombox Cartel’s “Aftershock,” they secured a placement on Trap and Bass’s Favorite Picks playlist before they dropped “Ark,” a standout collaboration with fellow bass producer Ship Wrek. “Ark” proved to be a hit, garnering 13.3M collective streams online and gaining support from Diplo, who dropped the track on his renowned Diplo & Friends radio show. With a live persona as electric as their hard-hitting sound, Zookeepers also flaunted their stuff on the touring circuit last year. The duo threw down at Distortion Festival in Copenhagen, one of the largest annual gatherings in Europe, and also supported heavy-hitters Yellow Claw and Don Diablo in their own backyard of Copenhagen.

New Noise is Dim Mak’s new music discovery imprint that focuses on cutting edge sounds from burgeoning artists across the genre spectrum. Launched in 2010, New Noise got its start as a compilation series highlighting fresh faces handpicked by Steve Aoki and crew. By 2015, the platform evolved into a bi-weekly, free-download model based on singles. New Noise’s current incarnation is a copyright free model that allows the budding community of Twitch gamers and amateur YouTube content creators to use New Noise music in their videos and live streams sans purchase or fees, all in exchange for linking back to the artists and their music.

Louis the Child and Vocalist Evalyn star in “Fire” Official Music Video

louis the child evalyn edm

Last fall dance-pop duo Louis the Child released their vocally-driven, saccharine groove “Fire” featuring LA-based vocalist Evalyn. Today, the teenage tandem shares a raunchy and visually artistic video to accompany the shimmering hit which has received over 10.5 million streams on Spotify alone since its initial release.

Starring the teenage duo and vocalist Evalyn, the brooding video starts at a seemingly run-of-the-mill party that is anything but. Seeing that the LTC boys’ ordinary lighters aren’t strong enough to fuel the party’s energy, Evalyn uses her mysterious heart-labeled box of matches to ignite a flame throughout the soiree. The blazing rainbow flare spreads throughout the bacchanal, adding life and color to everything it touches. A metaphor for how positive energy spreads like wildfire, the spirited music video for “Fire” is a flaming hot complement to one of the top dance hits of the season.

Since the track’s premiere during the rising duo’s Lollapalooza set in late July, the track has received support from the likes of Pete Tong, Diplo, Dillon Francis Sweater Beats and Felix Cartal. Charting on Beatport’s Top 100 Dance list and receiving airplay on radio stations around the world, “Fire” was also featured in two different Diplo & Friends mixes as well as Pete Tong’s 2016 Essential Mix of the Year shortlist.

This Friday Louis The Child will drop their first original track of 2017 called “Love Is Alive” featuring budding songstress Elohim via Ultra Music.

Buzzing Bass House Trio BROHUG Releases "Giggle Juice" EP

brohug giggle juice edm

BROHUG is here to change bass house forever with their forward-thinking Giggle Juice EP. The record's title track, premiered by YourEDM, showcases an eerily catchy breakdown before the production trio unloads a savage drop full of ferocious wubs, while the second tune "Droppers" features a relentless snare build capped off by a bouncy vocal-driven house rhythm tailor-made for clubs. Both songs make for a monster of a Dim Mak debut for BROHUG, who artfully blur the lines of gritty and groovy on Giggle Juice.

Regardless of their satirical stage name, BROHUG is not here to play games. They have been on an unremitting quest to proliferate their fresh take on club music, blending elements of bass, deep, and G-house. In 2016, their release schedule was virtually unrivaled, as they dropped a slew of tracks and EPs on some of the scene’s most influential labels. They began with their debut self-titled EP in April on Mad Decent’s sub-label Good Enuff and quickly followed with the second installation. Afterwards BROHUG put out two consecutive releases on Tchami’s CONFESSION imprint (“In the Morning” and “Bulldozer”) before landing on Oliver Heldens’ own Heldeep Records with the sinister house record “Make Money.”

In the fall, BROHUG ventured to Spinnin Records for a pair of releases - their genre-bending The Marshall EP and hit track “Guerilla.” The latter received widespread support from Avicii, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Afrojack, R3hab, Dada Life, and many more. Their support list has only grown since, as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike premiered Giggle Juice track “Droppers” on their acclaimed radio show Smash The House. With a voracious work ethic and innovative approach, BROHUG looks like a dark horse for 2017’s biggest breakthrough artist.

Oliver Heldens begins his 2017 with new single I Don’t Wanna Go Home

Gorgeous new track has ‘end of night’ anthem written all over it.

oliver heldens dj edm

We’ve all been there. The lights are coming up. Your feet are still glued to the dancefloor. The DJ drops one last tune and you do everything you can to squeeze every last drop of energy and excitement out of the party. Oliver Heldens captures that feeling perfectly on his first single of 2017: the storming I Don’t Wanna Go Home.

A pitched-down male vocal recounts the daily grind and struggle that we’re all too familiar with in the verses, before launching into the rousing, triumphant refrain for the build & drop. The track fixates around a plump electro house bassline and shuffling beats, with piano chords building the energy. The drop unleashes a rampant organ melody, while the builds and breaks are filled in with all manner of snare rolls and trademark Heldens breakbeat patterns. It’s a high-energy track with a chunky edge and typically awesome melody that’s sure to blast the January blues away. End of night anthem status awaits! Danny Howard already made the track to the Future Anthem on BBC Radio 1.

Heldens has been taking a break from touring after a hectic 2016, but will be back on the road soon, with dates at Story, Miami (Feb 10), Haven, Atlantic City (Feb 11) and Palladium, LA (Feb 18) in the USA his first three of the year. Tickets for the Palladium show are available here.

Oliver Heldens ‘I Don’t Wanna Go Home’ will be released on January 23 on Heldeep Records. Get your copy here.

ETC!ETC! and Corporate Slackrs Unleash “Raise Up (feat. Petey Pablo) [VIP]”

etc etc edm

Ringing in the new year with a bang, ETC!ETC! and Corporate Slackrs unleah their trapped out VIP mix of "Raise Up (feat. Petey Pablo)." Premiered by ThisSongSlaps, the track cranks up the BPM even more to offer a fresh twist on a proven club hit.

By breathing new life into “Raise Up,” ETC!ETC! remains in full-fledged ‘attack mode’ after going on a tear in 2016. After releasing his high-profile Wicked EP and hyper-paced “Trompa,” the versatile LA-based producer kept the energy high via a series of edits and official remixes. In addition to his heavy trap remix of Redman and Jayceeoh’s “Bitch I’m Lit,” he dropped a forward-thinking rework of Marshmello’s hit “Alone” and an official remix of Henry Fong’s Dim Mak banger “Drop It Down Low (feat. Richie Loop).” To close out the year, ETC!ETC teamed up with Diplo to rework Sia’s Billboard US Dance Club Songs chart-topping hit “Elastic Heart,” racking up over 637K Soundcloud streams in just one month.

Collaborating with ETC!ETC! on the “Raise Up” VIP are Corporate Slackrs, who are coming off a solid year of their own. Back in August, the promising bass duo released a breakthrough remix of DVBBS and Shaun Frank’s “La La Land (feat. Delaney Jane)” on Spinnin Records. The song went on to collect support from several electronic A-listers, including Adventure Club, Thomas Gold, and Marshmello, among many more. Showcasing their ability to blend elements of numerous genres, Corporate Slackrs recently dropped “Unexpected,” a frenetic trap tune that ThisSongSlaps referred to as “a massive hit.”
