EVENT RECAP: BRIGHT LIGHTS IN THE BIG CITY - STK ATLANTA’S THREE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Photos by Chucky Kahng (Chuckyfoto) and Tomas Espinoza.

On Thursday, April 30, 2015, STK Atlanta celebrated three years of success in Midtown Atlanta with an unforgettable evening, “Bright Lights in the Big City.” Known for its high-energy atmosphere and exceptional signature and seasonal offerings, STK took luxe to the next level for its anniversary bash. Guests walked a branded STK red carpet and were greeted with street performers on the bustling corner of Peachtree and 12th Streets before entering the restaurant through a striking 12-foot arch featuring a hanging crystal chandelier and STK boldly spelled out in fresh red roses. Guests entered a transformed environment dripping with glamour, which included beautiful crystal chandeliers peppered throughout the space. Local favorite DJ EU set the soundtrack for the evening while guests enjoyed interactive performances with drag queens and street performers as they mixed and mingled in the lounge, sipped on signature cocktails and enjoyed Executive Chef Mark Alba’s new spring offerings, alongside STK mainstays. Additionally, as a special thank you to all of their supporters over the past three years, the STK team treated diners to a complimentary bottle of Veuve Clicquot along with a delicious trio of desserts. With champagne in hand, guests ended the evening by collectively toasting to years of future success and departed with branded STK phone chargers and candles.

STK Atlanta artfully blends two concepts into one—the modern reincarnation of a steakhouse and a chic lounge. The feel is sleek, sexy and refined. As anticipated, steak is the main attraction. STK features small, medium and large cuts of meat, as well as naturally raised options and market fish entrées. STK is located at 1075 Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta on the corner of Peachtree and 12th Streets. Complimentary valet parking is available on 12th Street. UrbanDaddy presents Le Melon by Grey Goose

Grey Goose
Grey Goose

Who's your daddy? How loose is your goose? Both questions were answered Tuesday night at the W Atlanta Buckhead. UrbanDaddy threw down a party with a never ending flow of vodka. [My kind of party!] They were presenting Atlanta with the newest, smoothest Le Melon by Grey Goose. I may have had one or two or four... but don't worry, I rode Uber.

This was one of the coolest things I've ever seen... forget the "photo booth" it's so 2013... This one allows you to record GIFs that you can email and social media to yourself and friends.

There were four Le Melon signature cocktails and as stated earlier, I may have tried them all! But who could refuse the Melon Mule, Melon Royal, Fizz and the Southern Sip. They were accompanied by the yummiest bites ever like duck tacos and tuna tartare.

This was insane! This guy, who was truly an artist, sculpted the most amazing and exquisite designs from the melons. They were displayed throughout Whiskey Blue. Their sweet scent permeated subtly through the bar.

I think that was drink number two. You can't see it, but I have a firm grip on the Melon Royal in my right hand!

I kid you not, this was a party to remember. It was a non-stop good time from start to finish. The crowd was fun, lots of friends and familiar faces. Tuesdays will never be the same. Thanks Grey Goose!

If Monday is this glamorous for Jeffrey McQuithy, Louise Sams and Lila Hertz, I can only imagine what the rest of the week will bring! For real... who starts the week off in black tie? [Jeffrey in Etro, Louise is wearing Simone Rocha and Lila in Dior.] Well actually, there is a fabulous cause behind the couture:

Jeffrey Fashion Cares 2014!

YES darlings, can you believe we're already talking JFC?!! The first planning meeting is coming up very soon and I'll be sure to bring you ALL the scoop I possibly can from the committee. BUT for now, we can swoon over this absolutely exquisite,

behind-the-scenes

photo of the Co-Chairs taken by JFC pr maven Caren West. I will speculate that if the "styling" of the shoot is any indication of what to expect from this year's event, all I've got to say is O-EM-GEE!

*The 22nd Annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares is on August 25th, save-the-date!

the FASHION of Fashion Cares

jeffrey-fashion-cares-fashionado

The 20th Anniversary of Jeffrey Fashion Cares was a sensational celebration of life and fashion. JFC founder, Jeffrey Kalinsky has so much to be proud of and thankful for. In a tender, heartfelt welcome, he recognized the hard work and contributions of co-chair Lila Hertz who has chaired the event, passionately and tirelesslyfor ten years. The runway show, which opened with selected looks from special guest designer Joseph Altuzarra, also featured designs from some of the world's top labels [all carried at Jeffrey] such as Lanvin, Givenchy and Dries Van Noten. If I had the power to change one thing about the fashion show, it's that I would have made it in slow motion... it was just that damn good! *Later this week, Style Mag VM will bring you full coverage of the event, including VIP backstage access and a one-on-one with Altuzarra. [For now] I have more than 70 runway  images to share with you from Jeffrey Fashion Cares. These pics are raw; straight out of my iPhone... see what I saw!

Emceed by

Matt Chernoof

and

Sandra Golden

of 680 The Fan, guests kicked off the eventing with a cocktail hour in the lounge of STK where not only did they get to bid on silent auction items, but they also got to mix and mingle with Uggla and his teammates

and former Braves player

Charlie Leibrandt.

With the help of STK's servers, The Braves traded in their bats, gloves and balls for aprons - bringing each table a four-course meal.  Dinner was followed by a live auction that raised more than $50,000 for Uggla’s Diamonds in the Rough Foundation, which strives to provide opportunities, support and resources to children and families in need. The primary focus of the foundation is to improve the lives of low-income children and children with cancer by providing daily support and life changing experiences.

Breaking News: Guest Designer Announced-Jeffrey Fashion Cares

joseph-altuzarra-fashion-cares-fashionado

"Jeffrey [Kalinsky] has a talent for finding emerging young designers,"

said an enthusiastic

Lila Hertz,

Jeffrey Fashion Chair, when I asked her feelings about this year's special guest designer.

At just 28 years old, he's interned for Marc Jacobs, freelanced for Proenza Schouler and worked under Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy.

In 2011 he won the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund and on

August 27

th, 2012,

Jeffrey Fashion Cares

Atlanta is very proud to host French born, NY based designer,

Joseph Altuzarra

.

joseph-altuzarra-fall-2012-fashion-cares-fashionado

"It was really about mixing it" said Altuzarra about his Fall 2012 Collection. And mixing, flawlessly, he did.

Inspired by Italian comic hero

Corto Maltese

, Altuzarra's collection, like the

Maltese

character, traveled through Moroccan, Indian and French culture.

The global "mix" also came by way of textiles and embellishments. This is where Altuzarra exemplifies artistic genius. He masterfully, never losing sight of balance, proportion and sex appeal, married a plethora of riches.

There were pencil skirts and velvet jackets. Silk cargo pants paired with horsehead-motif sweaters. [His version of] the little black dress, structured and very French. Naval inspired coats in Mongolian lamb and fur...

Chic, leather, thigh-high boots added an edgy sophistication to the runway looks.

And finally, embroidery, Moroccan carpet patterns, patchworks, fringe and dangling coins added to the many layers of an already brilliant and complex collection.
