VIKTOR LUNA FALL 2015

Viktor Luna called it Guerrilla Warfare. These rough and tough badass chicks who were all so chic in their armor-like garments commanded attention. In a collaboration with Dmitry Byalik, Viktor Luna went literal with the "guerrilla" and presented a leather-embossed gorilla on the back of some of the jackets. They're intense and ready for war. Viktor Luna presented his women as warriors in fantastical and heavily embellished apocalyptic attire. As you begin to break down the pieces, what you have is a very modern collection for today's strong woman. The hardness of leather and metal work is soften by goat hair on jacket sleeves and reinforces Viktor Luna's allegiance to glamour and femininity. This season we also got a little bit of color in fabulous bleached legwear. Possibly one of the most versatile elements in this collection is the motorcycle jacket which is quickly becoming a signature piece for Viktor Luna. His jackets, which makes a bold statement, have so much presence and can be worn with any dress, skirt or pant. Guerrilla Warfare Chic.

Rick Owens Fall 2015 Women

Rick Owens kept dick off the runway this time. For one, it's womenswear and for another, a true artist would never do the same thing twice. When you're an avant garde designer like Rick Owens, you have to look for clues for understanding the thought process. It appears there is a Mayan influence because of the decorative shapes on the clothing. They also seem ceremonial, especially in the draping. The gilded faces in gold or silver are more than just dramatic elements but suggest importance. The most shocking aspect of the collection, believe it or not, was Owens' use of sequins! Why is that so shocking? As a minimalist, it's a big deal. Also, the last grouping on the runway seemed to be very clean and polished.

BELSTAFF Women Fall 2015

Belstaff is just hot, simply put. The fall 2015 collection perfectly balances elements of masculinity, rocker, comfort and chic into womenswear. Belstaff's women's creative director Delphine Ninous further drove this appeal by combining hard and soft textiles like leather and silk. Belstaff's interpretation of the modern woman is one who is strong, independent and fearless. And badass, in a classy way.

Emerging Designer Esé Azénabor Makes NYFW Debut

The Fall/Winter 2015 Esé Azénabor collection is an unapologetic artistic demonstration of luxury, culture and appreciation for the arts. The collection is inspired by the kingship of Henry VIII, and the affluent monarchs of that era, featuring embroidered Jacquard, rich dark tones and brocade fabrications. “The first time I saw the painting of Henry VIII, I was attracted to the gorgeous details of his garments,” says Azénabor. “We thought to create a collection inspired by his era in a modernized women's luxury ready-to-wear and couture collection.”
