Runway & Photo Shoots

The Art Institute of Atlanta

For the second year in a row, the Art Institute of Atlanta has commanded the 'catwalk' at the annual Doggies on the Catwalk hosted at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta. These emerging designers continue to demonstrate their talent and creativity. They wowed guests with their edgy, glam and RTW looks. The designers' vision came to fruition through our partnerships with CLICK Models and the Green Room Agency. Nyssa Green and her spectacular team gave life to all looks with the right hair and make-up. [And] because these clever designers know how to make use of the best opportunities, they took the time before the event to shoot editorial photos with their models.

They make me very proud and it's been a pleasure serving as their professor at the Art Institute of Atlanta. The President and Provost sat in the front row of Doggies on the Catwalk and just gleamed with well-deserved pride. The featured designers were: Haze Devlin, Tyra Hart, Katherine Hillis and Tierra Macon.

Can't get enough?? Join us on June 12th at the AC Hotel in Buckhead for the Art Institute of Atlanta Senior Showcase runway show for more!

Beyonce's New Haircut

Queen B's new do...

Beyonce's new haircut is national news. She's also trending on twitter. Ridiculous? To some, I'm sure.

BUT I'd rather escape from "reality"with news like this from time to time.

AND, besides, Beyonce looks AMAZING! In an industry where image is everything, this was a bold move. [Or cut!]

Fashionado contributor and Green on Red host Nyssa Green face booked: "B's haircut is adorable!!!"

So there, the beauty expert has spoken. I agree and will add: chic.

STYLE day 2 with Frank Ski

The second photo shoot day with

Frank Ski

started at the beautiful St. Regis Hotel. Being the wine expert and connoisseur that he is known to be, it seemed only appropriate that the first setting occur in The Wine Room. Dressed in Hugo Boss Black Label, Burberry dress shirt and a Varvatos tie, the only accessories required were a bottle of fine wine and glass!

WOW! That's all...

For a more relaxed look [and a pop of color] I put Frank in a cashmere Faconnable sweater and Diesel Jeans. Later, we added one more layer: an amazing Burberry tweed jacket with an olive green quilted lining with zipper.

Back for an encore... Hugo Boss and the metallic silver Diesel hightops.

Two great days of fashion and photography with such a terrific team, Nina Brown, Sara Hanna, Nyssa Green / Green Room Agency with Nat Brown. Special thanks to Todd Piercy at Bloomingdale's and to my fab assistant, the one and only, MOM!

Project PROM Dreams Come True

project-prom-ellery-webb-for-the-kid-in-all-of-us-vincent-martinez-atlanta-fashionadoThe remarkable folks at For the Kid In All of Us wanted a signature event of the caliber of their other two famous Atlanta staples, Toy Party and Back Pack in the Park, and it looks like they got it in Project Prom.

The concept: to repurpose [not very attractive & dated] prom and bridesmaid dresses; to modernize and beautify.

The cause: to donate the dresses to agencies serving under-privileged teens so they may go to prom.

I partnered with SCAD's Jason Bunin and EDL's Karron English to produce the dresses and though we had our challenges with sequins and beads, at the end, all dresses sparkled with glamour.

Authentic Beauty, The Green Room Agency and Mint Salon, out did themselves giving us the most spectacular hair and make up on the runway.

Event Host, 97.1fm The River's Kaedy Keily was a sensational emcee and Miss Georgia Christina McCauley granted her support on the runway and to the cause.

Atlanta deejay, internationally renown Vicki Powell proved why she's the best. The pre-show and runway music was on point. Its always a good sign when the deejay is having a good time.

If a prom queen had been crowned, then undeniably, the title would have gone to For the Kid In All of Us Board member, Brigid Scarbrough. She was my partner in crime and [pretty much] the contact person for every aspect of this event.

Enjoy highlights of Project Prom in a short video feature produced by C. Mitchell for ProFasional Alliance.
