DRAGONCON 2015 REWIND

by Nicholas Cox

Labor Day weekend marks the return of the cos-players dream convention, Dragoncon. Thousands flooded the downtown hotel district dressed as every character imaginable ranging from famous heroes such as Batman to more obscure fantasy figures. The four day event features a Saturday parade that has become an adopted tradition for Atlanta residents. Follow the track of your choice and attend panels on a wide variety of topics before sipping cocktails with Darth Vader and the X-men. The nights are the best party of the year, with  the most accepting crowd and there is a let your nerd flag fly vibe. People watch and snap pics with the some of the most ornate home-made costumes ever made. Next year will be even better. Can't wait!!

Black Bride Bridal Showcase Rewind

The

Black Bride

bridal showcase at the impressive Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta last Sunday sent across two very clear messages: 1. People of color GET MARRIED (and in style!) 2. You can be black, white, blue, pink, green or purple, Black Bride welcomed everyone. The grand ballroom housing the well attended event was bustling with love, glamour and energy all day long.

Exhibitors presented beautifully elaborate wedding themes to entice guests into a fairytale wedding. There was an abundance of bridal couture, deliciously catered samples, photographers, wedding planners, floral designers and even a groom's suite by

Kings of Atlanta

who offered complimentary chair massages. Caleb and I zoned out for a few minutes as we each got ours.
