Jeffrey Fashion Cares is pleased to unveil details for the 2011 official after-party following Atlanta’s premier charitable fashion event on Monday, August 29.
Themed “Fashion Luau," the post-show bash, which immediately follows the 19th annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares, will be held at Opera in Midtown beginning at 9 p.m. Late night festivities include special DJ appearances by Fred Schneider of the B-52s and Atlanta's own rock- star DJ Vicki Powell. ALSO, fire, knife and hula dancers, entertainment by some of Atlanta’s favorite personalities including Bubba D. Licious, and complimentary exotic cocktails and nibbles underneath tropical cabanas.
Cathy Smith, founder of Dixie Dog Wear and Jeffrey Fashion Cares After Party Chair, invites post-show partygoers to trade in their heels for comfortable flip-flops before mixing and mingling in a tropical oasis designed by Christopher McClellan. Tickets for the official after-party are $150 and available for purchase at jeffreyfashioncares.com. Proceeds from the official after-party will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta Affiliate and Atlanta AIDS Partnership (AAP).
Tickets and patron packages are still available for the 19th annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares, which kicks off at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 29 on the 32nd floor of 12th & Midtown, a stunning high-rise located at Peachtree and 12th Street. The event, which is hosted by acclaimed retailer Jeffrey Kalinsky, includes a pre-show reception, couture fashion show, and silent and live auctions. All Jeffrey Fashion Cares patrons are also invited to attend the official "fashion luau" themed after-party at Opera, which is just a short walk from the main event.
Over the past 19 years, Jeffrey Fashion Cares has grown into one of the largest combined AIDS and breast cancer benefits in the country, having raised over $9 million. Last year, 93 cents of every dollar raised went directly to the beneficiaries. Co-chaired by Lila Hertz, Jeffrey McQuithy, and Louise Sams, the 19th annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares features special guest designer Jason Wu and Honorary Chair Dennis Dean, founder and owner of Dennis Dean: A Catering Company. Both the event and after-party will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta Affiliate and Atlanta AIDS Partnership (AAP). This year, a small donation will also be made to the Medical University of South Carolina’s Inflammation and Fibrosis Research Center of Excellence.
