A Special Father's Day

Today is a very special Father's Day for me and my sister. We called our father, in Cuba, to wish him a Happy Father's Day for the first time, ever! We're still emotional over it. Such a gift to have reunited with Dad. My sister, Maria, surprised me this morning with this gem of a photo taken in Havana in 1969. It's the only photograph we have together with our dad. I didn't even know this existed until today!!
[Last] Thursday & Friday, CBS46 Atlanta featured a two-part interview by anchor Tracye Hutchins about my journey back to Cuba. My mother and I spoke about the experience and the emotion over meeting my father after 43 years.
