One of the things I’ve missed the most during this pandemic we’re living through is little pampering moments of getting your nails done or getting a brow wax. That’s why I’m very excited about the opening of THE TEN SPOT, a new beauty spot in the Morningside/Virginia Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta. It offers nailcare, waxing, and skincare services, and it’s opening as more people are getting vaccinated and more businesses are opening to full capacity, so the timing couldn’t be more perfect.

I recently got a pedicure at THE TEN SPOT – my first professional one in more than a year! – and here’s what impressed me the most about my experience:

  • The cleanliness and sanitization standards

  • The sleek, contemporary design aesthetic

  • The wide variety of services great for both men and women

  • The elevated experience – and kind, welcoming, caring employees

Let’s break these down:

Cleanliness:

THE TEN SPOT has always adhered to a clinically clean standard, well before COVID-19 and even more so now. Between resin basins (which are cleaner than jet tubs at traditional salons), stainless steel tools with single-use applicators (high-quality products where nothing that touches a client gets reused), and overall cleaning practices, this beauty spot implements the most rigorous safety and sanitation protocols and makes their guests feel ultra-safe.

Unisex aesthetic:

The interior design of THE TEN SPOT isn’t overly feminine. Instead, it boasts a sleek, contemporary aesthetic that is colorful yet neutral and appeals to humans of all genders. Even more importantly, THE TEN SPOT is inclusive of all humans, regardless of their gender. This is evident in how the beauty spot is set up and in the services it offers.

Range of services:

All of THE TEN SPOT’s services – nailcare, waxing, and skincare – are great for both men and women. Waxing tends to be especially popular with men, and THE TEN SPOT has quite the extensive waxing menu selection. Plus, they use a patented hard wax that is less painful than conventional wax. Regardless of which service you choose, you can catch up on your favorite Netflix show during it, with TVs in every room.

Elevated experience:

As you come in for your service, you’re offered something delicious to drink (coffee, tea, or water). Also, each service is truly customized for each client. The technicians ask lots of questions, try to understand your skincare history, and tailor each service to your goals. They don’t skimp on the attention to detail at THE TEN SPOT, which leaves you feeling like a ten.

That’s actually why it’s called THE TEN SPOT – because the employees make sure you feel like a ten after your service(s) there. And it is so true: From the welcoming, comfortable space, to the fun perks (hello, Netflix), to the inclusive environment, you feel truly taken care of.

I can’t wait to go back for another treatment at THE TEN SPOT! If you’re interested in checking them out, make sure to make a reservation ahead of time. THE TEN SPOT is open every day of the week, and they’re located next to Nowak’s steakhouse and across the street from Alon’s in Morningside/Virginia Highlands.

When you do go, let me know how you like your experience – shoot me a DM on Instagram! I’d love to hear what you think of THE TEN SPOT
