Gigi Hadid Joins Forces with Reebok to Tell Next Phase of Be More Human Campaign

Gigi Hadid, style icon, fitness advocate and trendsetter, joins Reebok’s community of inspiring women as the newest face of the brand’s #PerfectNever movement; a powerful and inspirational call to action that asks women around the world to celebrate the beauty of imperfection and champions Reebok’s intrinsic message of self-betterment.

Together, Gigi and Reebok will challenge women to use physical fitness as an escape to drown out all of the negativity that surrounds them by deploying the three-point principles of the Reebok delta that puts forth the social, physical and mental benefits of fitness.

As an international supermodel Hadid is no stranger to the pressures of perfection placed on women, living under the constant scrutiny of a global audience of critics.  It is through fitness that Hadid has found her tranquility. “Working out isn’t only physical for me. It’s mental. It helps me escape the noise in my head. It’s the only time my mind goes quiet.” shares Hadid.  “When I was a competitive athlete, I used to be so focused on being perfect that my coaches would take me out of competing all together.  I’d focus on my mistakes which would breed more missteps - a domino effect. Until I learned to change the channel, to re-focus, re-set. It was my mistakes, my imperfections that motivated me most.”

Learning to “change the channel” and take control, Hadid discovered that it was in fact these failures and setbacks that helped her improve – accepting them and using them as motivation to better herself. Hadid will now work with Reebok to motivate women to accept their own setbacks and imperfections by embracing their inner strength, grit and determination.

Reebok’s partnership with Hadid marks the second phase in the #PerfectNever movement’s chapter. July 2016 marked its debut, led by a powerful campaign video featuring athlete Ronda Rousey.  The poignant video captured Rousey at her most raw and real, as she shattered the illusions of perfection and empowered women to be the best version of themselves through embracing and learning from their imperfections. Gigi and Reebok will work together in 2016 and beyond to further champion this message.

PROJECT PABST ATLANTA

Project Pabst makes its Atlanta debut on Saturday, October 1, 2016 and set times have just been announced. Project Pabst Atlanta takes place in the heart of the East Atlanta Village at the intersection of Flat Shoals & Glenwood Avenues, and will feature over 9 hours of incredible live entertainment. Performers include special hometown appearances by Run The Jewels and Mastodon, plus performances by Santigold, NOFX, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, The Internet, Real Estate, Titus Andronicus and more.

In addition to performances on the two main outdoor stages, The EARL and 529 will host additional live music, and 529 will also host the Project Pabst Comedy Stage, in conjunction with the Red Clay Comedy Festival--all included in the festival ticket price.

Project Pabst offers a unique festival experience, incorporating music, art, hands-on interactive elements, as well as food and beer at reasonable “non-festival” prices ($3 Pabst Blue Ribbons!). Festivalgoers will be entertained with the old school video games in the PBRcade, the Pabst Vandalism interactive graffiti art display, and Pabst Wax, which features on-the-spot pressing of vinyl recordings that the fans create themselves. Project Pabst Atlanta has also announced there will be a bike valet on site.

The Atlanta stop is the third 2016 festival for the Project Pabst concert series, following a sold out show in Denver, CO this past May, headlined by Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Best Coast & Violent Femmes; and the sold out two-day Portland festival with headliners Tame Impala, Duran Duran, Ice Cube and Ween. Loyal shoppers and newcomers alike descended upon The Frye Company at Ponce City Market on Thursday, September 15th to celebrate the arrival of the highly anticipated Modern Icons Collection. Hosted by actress and modern icon Lauren Cohan, best known for her role as Maggie Greene on “The Walking Dead”, guests were treated to the sounds of DJ Pat O’Brien while enjoying complimentary Richland Rum cocktails, Emergency Drinking Beer from Wild Heaven Craft Beers and local bites from The Mercury. The signature cocktail of the night, perfect for any fall occasion and called Bootstrap, was made with Georgia’s own Richland Rum, lime juice, lemon juice, aperol, simple syrup, Angostura bitters, Peychauds bitters, shaken and garnished with a Granny Smith Apple. U T O P I A: Roche Bobois Atlanta x Mimi Plange x Horizons Atlanta

Roche Bobois, luxury furniture editor, and Mimi Plange, award-winning fashion designer, have joined together to present their artistic collaboration - “UTOPIA” -a large exhibition of Roche Bobois’ iconic Mah Jong sofa, as well as wall coverings and accessories, produced exclusively for the special event.

The one-of-a-kind pieces, upholstered with custom Mimi Plange fabrics and leathers, will be sold with proceeds benefiting Horizons Atlanta. Horizons is Atlanta’s leading advocate and provider of summer learning programs with plans to expand over the next several years with a suite of programs serving 2000 metro Atlanta students. 

Roche Bobois will offer a “Pop Up Shop” of fashion and home accessories designed by Plange, which will showcase a modern interpretation of ancient African design traditions. Pulling heavily from her own Ghanaian heritage, Plange will showcase a painted version of the iconic Kente Cloth, surreal animal pop art collages, and her own army of pastel Ashanti Dolls. For the highly anticipated collaboration, Plange partnered with the Ethical Fashion Initiative,a program of a UN agency called ITC that connects the fashion industry with artisans in Africa and Haiti.

With the belief that Culture, Art and Design share the same philosophy and inspiration, Roche Bobois is also pleased to lend their support to such an important fundraising event for a perfect cohesion of fashion and design. “UTOPIA” is set to receive a large array of attention on both a local and national level; all ticket sales and items sold during the event will support Horizons Atlanta.
