Steve Aoki and Lauren Jauregui Release Their Music Video For "All Night" Collaboration

Steve Aoki Lauren Jauregui All Night

On January 8th, Grammy-nominated DJ/Producer Steve Aoki and Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui released the official music video for their hit single "All Night," which premiered exclusively on Buzzfeed.

The video, directed by Mike Harris, entrances the viewer with a flashy vibe tempered by a very personal message of love and wanting. Jauregui breathes life into the club track, elevating its melodies with a vulnerability rarely seen on the dance floor but still maintaining the hook's earworm magic. It also marks Aoki’s return from hip-hop style on his recent Kolony LP to the bright-light, electro-house roots of his forthcoming Neon Future III album.

The ‘All Night’ collaboration announced for the first time last March, binds both Aoki and Jauregui’s strengths in their genres, peaking at #1 iTunes overall in more than 14 countries amongst its November 2017 release and having debuted at #1 iTunes Dance in over 30 countries.

The song debuted at #1 in 43 countries and has since achieved Gold or Platinum status in 18 countries. AOKI recently received his second Grammy nomination in the Best Music Film category as the subject of the 2016 Netflix Original documentary “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead” which premiered to a sold out audience at the Tribeca Film Festival. Steve has also both donated and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for various charitable organizations including his own AOKI FOUNDATION with a primary goal of supporting organizations in the brain science and research areas with a specific focus on regenerative medicine and brain preservation. Steve Aoki released his latest album Kolony on July 21 (via Dim Mak Records / Ultra Records) debuted at #1 on the Electronic Album charts. Kolony marks Aoki’s first full turn into rap music, with nearly 10 years of hip-hop collaborations, which he describes as “bridging the gap” between genres and is stacked with hard-hitting rhymes from some of the most prominent lyricists today, including Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, Migos, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, ILOVEMAKONNEN, T Pain, and more.

Lauren Jauregui continues to find her footing as an unstoppable powerhouse talent with an impassioned and inimitable voice that rings out far beyond the stage. From her fan-favorite feature on Ty Dolla $ign’s Beach House 3 track “In Your Phone” to her critically-acclaimed duet with pop songstress Halsey entitled “Strangers,” the singer, songwriter, activist, and member of multi-platinum supergroup Fifth Harmony continues to showcase her incredible vocal versatility.  Lauren officially stepped out with her first collaboration in 2016, teaming up with indie pop duo Marian Hill for the sexy and sultry “Back To Me,” racking up over 20 million streams on Spotify alone and paving the way for future collaborations.  Her recent projects add to an already hugely-successful career with Fifth Harmony, a group that is no stranger to the top of the charts.  The foursome’s third studio album Fifth Harmony was the No. 1 pop and second-best overall selling album in the U.S., debuting at No. 4 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 chart and peaking at No. 1 on iTunes in more than 50 countries.  Fifth Harmony’s first two albums also arrived in the Top 5 of the Billboard Top 200 chart and reached gold status, while spawning inescapable smashes such as the 5x-platinum “Work From Home,” the triple-platinum “Worth It” and platinum “BO$$,” “Sledgehammer,” and “All In My Head (Flex)”.  Along the way, Lauren has always made the most of her podium, urging change and social consciousness whenever possible.  Following the 2016 election, the singer architected a poignant, and powerful open letter to Donald Trump supporters, touting social justice and bravely and courageously acknowledging her bisexuality for the first time in public. Igniting praise across media and from critics, peers and fans alike, Lauren possesses the power to become a change agent for this generation, and she’s on her way to doing so through music and activism.

Steve Aoki Drops “Night Call” Video Feat. Migos & Lil Yachty Off Chart-Topping Album "Kolony"

Fresh off the release of his highly-anticipated album Steve Aoki Presents: Kolony, which debuted as the #1 Album on the iTunes US Electronic Chart, Steve Aoki premieres the second official music video for KOLONY for his hit track “Night Call” featuring Migos and Lil Yachty. The track has been featured on Sirius XM's Hip-Hop Nation and Shade45, Hot 97 NY, Power 106 LA and more.

Each video release off Kolony takes place in a different room of the Dim Mak Manor that corresponds to the vibe and feeling of that particular song. The second music video release following “Without U (w/ DVBBS Ft. 2 Chainz),” “Night Call” takes place in a lavish, monochromatic study that overlooks a 3D psychedelic landscape at nightfall. The video, shot in Migos’ hometown of Atlanta, mirrors the swimming sensation and off-kilter vibe provided by the track as we watch the environment around the artists take a hallucinatory turn.

In support of last week’s album release, Aoki introduces his new merch line, Kolony Collection. Aligned with his elevated, streetwear brand, Dim Mak Collection, the Kolony Collection was produced with every detail in mind. Each piece is washed to give the fabric a slick, soft hand. The trims are cut by hand to expose raw edge for a worn-in feeling. The cut of the styles were inspired by vintage tees and hoodies - oversized, drop shoulder, with slightly longer sleeves. The artwork inspired by the name and concept of the album, show ideas of unity and collaboration. The summer line is currently available via http://dimmakcollection.com with the Fall/Winter line scheduled to drop in September.

The first release off Aoki’s forthcoming album KOLONY, the video for “Without U" follows Aoki, 2 Chainz, and DVBBS through the winding halls of Dim Mak Manor. Filled with moving portraits and animated mannequins, the video’s stark minimal and monochromatic composition effortlessly compliments the feeling of the track.

“The Without U video is the first look into the Dim Mak manor where you get to see a room in the house curated by 2 Chainz, DVBBS and I. Each room of the manor is designed by a different song from the album all interconnected in this Kolony community,” said Aoki.

“Without U” comes off the announcement of Steve Aoki Presents KOLONY, due for release July 21 via Dim Mak Records / Ultra Records, his first full turn into rap music. steve aoki edm

Grammy-nominated DJ, record producer, restauranteur, fashion and music executive, Steve Aoki unveils his upcoming album Steve Aoki Presents Kolony, an amalgamation of party-cranking tracks that stretch across the boundaries between EDM and rap music, landing on something in between and adding supplemental flavor. The project, due for release July 21 via Dim Mak Records / Ultra Records, marks Aoki’s first full turn into rap music, with nearly 10 years of hip-hop collaborations, which he describes as “bridging the gap” between genres and is stacked with hard-hitting rhymes from some of the most prominent lyricists today, including Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, Migos, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, ILOVEMAKONNEN, T Pain, and more.

“When I was in the studio working on this project or a song with someone that made it to the album, they brought their own crew, and I'd turn around and be like, ‘this squad is like a colony,’” explains Aoki of the title. “We're like a colony, because it just felt like the energy in the room was more vibrant. It was a lot of energy from people flowing from the studio, and I loved that think tank, that group collaboration, and spirit.”

“Night Call” serves as a standout on the Kolony tracklist and is the product of mutual support between Aoki and rap’s hottest trio Migos, recorded in their ATL studio and featuring Yachty on the off chance of dropping by during the session. Steve debuted the hip-hop record back in May in front of 25,000 people at Austin's JMBLYA festival.

Steve Aoki Remixes "The Best," by David Choe's Band Mangchi

steve aoki

Mangchi, the experimental punk outfit led by notorious artist David Choe, gets the remix treatment from friend and collaborator Steve Aoki. Aoki transforms “The Best" into a late night club record full of high-energy synths and deep basslines on this heavy 4/4 workout. The boastful vocals don’t lie when they say, “it’s the motherf*cking best.” The artwork for the release is an original piece by David Choe and features his signature Munko whales.

With punk rock roots and DIY attitudes, Choe and Aoki are the perfect dyad. Earlier this year, the two collaborated at January’s North American launch of the Dim Mak Collection (DMC) at New York Fashion Week. Several of Choe’s illustrations were incorporated onto items within the DMC Fall/Winter 2017 collection and his surrealistic punk band, Mangchi, performed live during the DMC NYFW17 presentation.

Through Choe’s unique lens, Mangchi’s explosion of art and noise is on full display in the video for “The Best (view here).” Mangchi is the Korean translation for the word “hammer;” according to a video-only press release, their sound can be described as “A fart from a child without a butthole.” The LA-based group features several talented musicians, including legendary keyboardist Money Mark (of the Beastie Boys.)

Steve Aoki is a Grammy-nominated international producer/DJ, electronic dance music entrepreneur, and founder of the trendsetting record label, events/lifestyle company and apparel line Dim Mak. During a monumental 2016, Aoki celebrated Dim Mak’s 20th anniversary through curated stages in 20 cities around the world and the release of a special edition compilation album. His sonic roots were on full display last year when he remixed songs by legendary emo and punk bands My Chemical Romance (“Black Parade”) and Blink-182 (“Bored to Death.”) Additionally, he earned his second Grammy nomination for the Best Music Film category for his Netflix original documentary I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, which chronicles his fast-paced life as a DJ/producer.

He closed 2016 by collaborating with One Direction member Louis Tomlinson on “Just Hold On," which debuted at #1 in 43 countries and has since achieved Gold or Platinum status in 18 countries.
