Dim Mak returns to Miami Music Week for a late-night affair at Mana Wynwood. Headlined by Steve Aoki, the festivities include a newly announced lineup featuring performances by Slushii, 4B, Henry Fong, Tisoki, Max Styler, Bok Nero, Kendoll and special guest Don Diablo. The 18+ event kicks off at 8PM and ends Thursday morning at 3AM.

For the past decade, Dim Mak and Steve Aoki have been at the epicenter of Miami Music Week, curating boundary-pushing events year after year. The artists on the 2019 lineup join a stacked list of talent who have graced the Dim Mak stage over previous years, including The Chainsmokers, Yellow Claw, Deorro, Rich the Kid, Dada Life, Carnage, Afrojack, Waka Flocka Flame, Keys N Krates, Lil Jon, Desiigner, Borgore, Getter, Laidback Luke, The Bloody Beetroots, QUIX and many many more. A particularly poignant release for the legendary producer, ‘500 (PCM)’ marks the 500th episode of his radio show ‘Identity’, as well as the world premiere of the Identity 15th Anniversary Tour. Deftly blending bouncy basslines with spiralling synths and a euphoric drop, this will no doubt be one of the soundtracks to this year’s Miami Music Week. 
 
Already on track to be a monumental month, Sander will be heading down under for two Purple Haze shows at It’s A Fine Night in West Melbourne on 15th March and Transmission Australia, Sydney on 16th March. The Doorn label boss will then cross continents to play a gig at The Button Factory in Dublin, Ireland, ending up in Miami for his record-breaking ‘Sander van Doorn Presents 15 Years of Identity World Premiere’ at the Spinnin’ Hotel on Saturday 30th March.

Super Producers Steve Aoki and Alan Walker Drop Reimagined Collab “Are You Lonely”

Today, two-time Grammy nominated DJ and ProducerSteve Aoki and multi-platinum Norwegian DJ and Producer Alan Walker team up to drop re-envisioned track, “Are You Lonely” featuring ISÀK. The instrumental and lyrical melody are based on the original “Lonely” release that came out at the end of last year on Alan Walker’s album, now reimagined with new lyrics, arrangement and performance.

Aoki and Walker have collaborated previously, remixing each other's tracks including Walker’s remix of “All Night ”by Steve Aoki featuring Lauren Jauregui of Fifth Harmony, Steve’s remix of Alan Walker’s“ All Falls Down, ”and“Lonely/Are You Lonely.”

The track features Aoki and Walker’s signature sounds. Aoki’s skillful production and use of electronic sound compliment Walker’s profound and emotional musicality, featuring a deep bass & drum line punching beneath ISÀK’s distorted vocals that are begging to know “Are you lonely?” Speaking to Aoki and Walker’s use of non-earthly aesthetic, the song gives off a robotic deep house sound with the use of dark ambient keys and melodic builds.

The hook cries out "are you lonely? I’ll stand by you," dressed with suspenseful diminished chords below, and empty musical space that highlights the idea of loneliness and isolation. The track finishes out with Aoki’s classic melodic beats, full of heavy bass, deep drops, and pingy electronic sounds.

“Alan and I are kindred spirits and working with him on this track was so natural,” said Aoki. “ISÀK’s vocals make this piece really come alive, and I can’t wait for all of our fans to hear this track!”

“I’m super excited to get this one out there with my good friend Steve,” said Walker. “We already released a version called “Lonely” on my album, and it’s been a fan favorite during my shows. So it’s cool to get this new version out there as well!”

CHIC’S ICONIC SMASH HIT “LE FREAK" RECEIVES AN OLIVER HELDENS MAKEOVER

On the 40th-year anniversary of CHIC’s “Le Freak” (1978) breaking #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Dutch DJ/house music pioneer Oliver Heldens reinvents the biggest selling track in Atlantic Records history for a very special release out today via Big Beat Records – accompanied by an animated video featuring  Nile, Bernard and Oliver.

Oliver Heldens brings back the heat in a big way, reworking CHIC’s legendary worldwide hit, which deservingly held the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B Charts and was the first song to score the number one position on the Billboard Hot100 three separate times,  while selling over seven million copies worldwide. Heldens adds his signature style to create a contemporary house music anthem with bouncing baselines and smooth, catchy melodies, making it just as much an indulgent tech-house tune as it is a nostalgic trip back to the disco era.

The track has already received enormous response in club rooms internationally, alongside DJ support from A-Trak, Mercer, and Dannic.

The comic-book style video featuring Rodgers, Edwards and Heldens opens with a recalling of the original tale of "Le Freak," which Rodgers describes as the outcome of navigating the music scene as an up-and-coming artist, and being turned away at nightclub Studio 54’s doors shouting “aww, fuck off!” which evolved into the legendary line “freak out!”

I tried to keep it true to the original and had a lot of fun remixing it. I'm very happy with the result and super proud to release this remix.”

Imagine Music Festival has announced it will partner with Surreal, a fundraising platform that works with festivals and musicians to offer fans once-in-a-lifetime experiences with proceeds benefitting local charities for the September 21st through 23rd festival. Imagine and Surreal have created two exclusive artist-based experiences which fans can enter with one winner chosen for each. Each winner will receive a VIP ticket to Imagine Music Festival for themselves and a friend, roundtrip airfare courtesy of Orbitz, onsite VIP Glamping by Unity Travel, as well as the artist experience they entered. Net proceeds from the campaign will benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to making kids better today and healthier tomorrow.
