Garçon, garçon! I mean waiter. No baseball player. No, waiter! Confused yet? Let me re-pitch... Atlanta Braves players turn waiters for one very charitable night at the swankiest steakhouse in town, STK Atlanta. Braves second baseman Dan Uggla is the brainchild behind Celebrity Waiter Night which benefits his foundation Diamonds in the Rough.
Dan spoke to CBS News and other members of the media about Celebrity Waiter Night. So who are the waiters?!
Dan wouldn't reveal the names of the Braves players who'll be waiting on guests on the July 16th event, but two potentials are, Martin Prado and "for the ladies" as he put it, pitcher Brandon Beachy. He also raved about how much he liked the "atmosphere" at STK and how excited he is for the 2nd Annual Celebrity Waiter Night.
Dan and I shared a few moments talking about why we love Miami. He lived there for five years while playing for the Marlins. He found it amusing that I'm a fashion blogger while my sister, Miriam Diaz, is a sports blogger who writes [almost] exclusively about the Marlins.
Dan Uggla was a real nice guy with very big arms! His Celebrity Waiter Night, in support of Diamonds in the Rough that provides resources to children and families in need, will be held on July 16 at STK Atlanta. The $250 per guest dinner includes a reception and silent/live auctions.
