The Southeast EMMY Awards 2013

It's a tie! It's a tie! Oh, it's a tie...

it's a tie.

That seemed to be the recurring theme of the evening. A trend started at the beginning of the awards ceremony for the 2013

Southeast Emmys

. But hey, the message I took away from all the "ties" is that there's just that much talent and excellence in the South. So more power to us!

Former WSBTV anchor,

Monica Pearson

hosted the event and opened with a song. Such a treat!

As always, Monica was engaging, funny and a total pro. [We tweeted throughout the evening and later chatted about fashion- you know- the important stuff, like the beautiful, fitted, orange lace dress she wore and that men should wear proper tuxedo shoes.]

The Southeast Emmy Awards hosted a very well attended crowd at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead, Atlanta.

WXIA-TV - 11 Alive Atlanta were big winners this past Saturday. For a complete list of all the winners, visit the NATAS Southeast Emmys website,

I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the catering. Dinner was delicious and as for dessert, wow!

Sorry for all the pictures of me, but I couldn't resist taking photos with some of Atlanta's finest news ladies.
