GALANTIS & JVKE TEAM UP ON “DANDELION”

Internationally-acclaimed collaborative project Galantis has teamed up with viral sensation JVKE for new single “Dandelion” – available now via Big Beat Records. The mesmerizing track tells a story of fleeting love with a signature sprightly beat and infectiously distorted vocals.

’Dandelion’ came about after JVKE requested to hop on a Galantis Instagram Live. I recognized him from TikTok and I asked him what he was up to. He said he was working on an idea for a song and started to sing it for me. I really loved the vibe and he asked if I was down to work on it together. We ended up sending it back and forth and it became this natural organic collaboration with no real plan or goal. The past year has really changed how we make music and work with other artists, with negative circumstances actually opening doors to unlikely opportunities – GALANTIS

Dandelion” marks the latest in a series of several genre-bending Galantis collaborations – most recently including “Tu Tu Tu (That’s Why We)” with NGHTMRE & Liam O’Donnell and “Pretty Please” with Jackson Wang – in addition to remixes for the likes of Pele (“Acredita No Véio” feat. Rodrigo Y Gabriela), Brando (“Don’t Call Me”) and Falling In Reverse (“Popular Monster” with NGHTMRE). Meanwhile, JVKE’s debut single “Upside Down” quickly became one of the biggest TikTok songs of 2020, generating over 15 million videos and over 7 billion plays on the app, in addition to a remix featuring Charlie Puth.

ELEKTRA GIVES BACK & ATLANTA’S CENTER STAGE HOST “FEED THE CREW!” FOOD DRIVE

Elektra Gives Back and Atlanta's Center Stage have teamed up with Musically Fed to host the “Feed The Crew!” holiday food drive on Friday December 11, 2020. The contactless, drive-through event benefits Atlanta music industry professionals affected by the COVID-19 Global Pandemic and touring shutdown. According to NIVA, the National Independent Venue Association, the Independent Venue and Promoter Industry is experiencing 95% revenue loss, while 95% of employees are furloughed and 90% of venues are at risk of bankruptcy. Elektra Gives Back recently launched as a philanthropic, employee-led resource group at Elektra Music Group, and “Feed The Crew!” will be its first, official charitable undertaking. Musically Fed is a 501(c)(3) Organization dedicated to mobilizing the music industry in the fight against hunger by donating unused backstage meals to community organizations that feed the homeless, hungry and food insecure. Since the pandemic, Musically Fed has shifted their focus to taking care of those in the music industry who are out of work without live events. ENTERCOM has signed on as the radio partner for the charitable event.

Adhering to all COVID-19 guidelines, safety requirements, and social distancing protocols, “Feed The Crew!” is scheduled to run 10am-6pm on December 11 at Center Stage (1374 W Peachtree St NW, Atlanta, GA 30309). During this time, volunteers will accept donations of non-perishable foods to be distributed among the local music and production community responsible for live gigs in the area. Those interested in donating may pull into the garage free of charge and leave their items with staff. For completely contactless drop off, industry volunteers can alternately pick up items from your trunk. A list of items suggested for donation can be found below. Donations are set to be distributed the following Friday by Musically Fed.

As organizer for “Feed The Crew!, Elektra Music Group Regional Director of Promotion Darrin Schnur said, “Music fans aren’t the only ones who miss live shows and concerts. Tens of thousands of support staff who bring these shows to life are missing them just as much, and they are in need of a lifeline right now. When COVID-19 put the touring business on pause, box office employees, stagehands, caterers, lighting and sound design artists, production staff, and security teams lost their chief source of income, struggling to keep food on the table. We couldn’t just sit by, so Elektra Gives Back joined forces with Musically Fed to help out our friends and family who make concerts happen. If you’re in Atlanta, we hope to see you on December 11. If not, please donate what you can. Hopefully, we’ll all be back in the crowd soon.”

Josh Antenucci from Center Stage adds, “2020 has been unimaginably hard on the workforce that makes live music happen. The pandemic response has prevented our workers the opportunity to work, earn and provide for themselves and their families. As the holidays approach, we are honored to partner with Elektra Gives Back and be able to work for our crews and help put food on the tables of those in most need.

Musically Fed Founder Maria Brunner concludes, “Musically Fed is excited to partner with Center Stage to help raise much needed food items for gig workers...the staff people who are the life blood of making concerts happen. They are usually the givers, helping so much in the Atlanta Community. Now it is time to help them.”

Online donations may be submitted to Musically Fed - a $10 donation provides 5 meals! Event information and details are enclosed below.

Be on the lookout for more announcements from Elektra Gives Back.

JACK BACK (DAVID GUETTA’S ALIAS) REMIXES SUMMER SMASH “HEAD & HEART” BY JOEL CORRY & MNEK

jack back david guetta

Song of the Summer contender ‘Head & Heart’ by UK Platinum DJ/producer Joel Corry and GRAMMY-nominated MNEK receives a fresh take from Jack Back, David Guetta’s underground alias. Listen to “Head & Heart (Jack Back Remix)” HERE.

“Head & Heart” just entered its third week at #1 in the UK and is currently #7 at US Dance Radio. This marks the first UK Official Chart #1 for both Joel and MNEK and they’re surely not stopping here.

Joel first broke through last summer with ‘Sorry’ – a thumping re-work of Monsta Boy’s UKG classic of the same name – which spent 10 weeks in the UK Top 10, peaking at #6, and broke Shazam’s all-time daily record in the UK after receiving over 41,000 tags in one 24-hour period last July. He followed that up with the release of ‘Lonely’ in January, which went on to peak at #4 on the OCC and spend a mammoth 11 weeks of its own inside the UK Top 10, firmly marking him out as the UK’s biggest breakout dance producer of the last 12 months.

‘Head & Heart’ sees Joel collaborate with GRAMMY-Nominated singer-songwriter MNEK for the first time to zero in on a classic house sound anchored in its smooth tones, warm, glossy chords and feel-good, infectious lyricism. Listen HERE.

As a DJ, Joel also toured extensively across throughout 2019 and early 2020, as well as making his debut at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball and Top Of The Pops’ Christmas Day & New Year specials alongside the likes of Lewis Capaldi, Freya Ridings and Stormzy. He headed out on his first ever headline Australian Tour in January and supported both Sigala and Jax Jones on their UK Tours in February, while also turning in official remixes for the likes of Stormzy (‘Own It’ ft. Ed Sheeran & Burna Boy), Wiley, Aitch, Sigala and Ella Eyre over the last six months.

Galantis released their highly anticipated third studio album Church earlier this year, taking listeners on a euphoric sonic journey. The duo’s first new album in three years, the 14-track collection features Galantis’ explosive single “Faith” with country music icon Dolly Parton featuring Dutch singer-songwriter Mr. Probz. Praised as “a life-affirming dancefloor jam” by Entertainment Weekly upon release, “Faith” saw a #1 debut on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Chart before quickly reaching #1 on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart where it remained for 5 weeks – in tandem with an outpouring of support from Rolling StoneGood Morning AmericaEntertainment TonightNPRHuffington Post & more. The track listing also includes the duo’s blockbuster collaborations with OneRepublic (“Bones”), Passion Pit (“I Found U”) and Yellow Claw (“We Can Get High”), among new standout tracks “Never Felt A Love Like This” with Hook N Sling featuring Dotan and “Hurricane” with John Newman.

In February, Galantis teamed up with WaveXR for a live virtual concert that was shared globally via YouTube. Setting a new standard for songwriting in dance music, Galantis is a collaborative project between Christian Karlsson (aka Bloodshy, one-third of Miike Snow) and Linus Eklöw (aka Style of Eye). Their debut album Pharmacy reached No. 1 on the Billboard Dance album chart on the strength of RIAA gold certified single “Peanut Butter Jelly” and platinum certified smash “Runaway (U & I)” – the latter of which earned GRAMMY nominations for “Best Dance Recording” and “Best Remixed Recording” – while their 2017 sophomore album The Aviary (featuring platinum certified single “No Money”) saw a top 10 debut in 23 countries and 2020 album Church features their chart-topping single “Faith” with country music icon Dolly Parton featuring Dutch singer-songwriter Mr. Probz. The duo have received over 3 billion cumulative worldwide streams, and over 1 billion video views to date.

The story of Galantis started back in 2009. After reaching out to Eklöw (who produced Icona Pop’s hit single “I Love It” as Style of Eye) to remix Miike Snow’s “Animal,” the two continued to collaborate until ultimately Galantis was born. Following their blockbuster performance debut at 2014’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the duo quickly rose to become one of dance music’s most dynamic and in-demand live performers.

GALANTIS “BONES” FT. ONEREPUBLIC OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO ARRIVES TODAY

Galantis-Bones

Swedish duo Galantis welcomes viewers to step into a remarkable fantasy world where bodies are transformed into skeleton form in the new official music video for their single “Bones” featuring OneRepublic. Video director Spencer Hord of AfterWeDead says, “This project was a rare occasion where our amazing team of animators, editors, and production nerds (Joe Cella // Pix3lface // Vince McKelvie // Sam Newell // Andrew Henry // Joey Bryars // Brian Beckwith) saw the album artwork and knew the concept straight away.” On his interpretation of Bones Park Hord says, “We wanted to do something conceptually simple, but visually challenging. The goal was to create a literal representation of “Bones” with 3D animation, and merge these CG assets with a moody amusement park environment to create a surreal mixed-reality narrative. We shot the live action plates at Castle Park in Riverside - a small theme park in Southern California I grew up attending for various grade-school birthday parties. The location was much better than I remembered, and the production process became a nostalgic experience to say the least.”

“Bones” builds acoustically and takes flight in true Galantis fashion. The Grammy nominated duo’s latest single follows up the recent success of “San Francisco” (feat. Sofia Carson), along with “Emoji”, "Satisfied” (feat. MAX), and "Spaceship” (feat. Uffie). Known for their over-the-top live performances, Christian Karlsson (also of Bloodshy & Avant and Miike Snow) and Linus Eklöw (Style of Eye) are spanning the globe with festivals and shows in 2019, including a headline live show at New York’s Brooklyn Mirage on July 5th that has just gone on sale, a show at Los Angeles’ Shrine Expo Hall on October 18th that goes on sale this Thursday, April 25th, and more coming soon.

Galantis will also release a remix package for “Bones” on April 26th featuring re-works from the guys themselves, on their Galantis & shndō VIP Mix, as well as versions from Hook N SlingSteff da Campo, B-Sights, eSQUIRE, and Lodato.

Galantis’s second album The Aviary debuted as a Top 10 album in 23 countries and received widespread critical praise. The New Yorker proclaimed, “Galantis sends crowds soaring with reliably mammoth melodies,” while NYLON raved, “Everything Galantis touches is gold.” Additionally, their debut album Pharmacy reached No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Chart and spawned hit singles “Peanut Butter Jelly” and “Runaway (U&I),” the latter of which is RIAA certified gold in seven countries and earned GRAMMY nominations for “Best Dance Recording” and “Best Remixed Recording”.

Super Producers Steve Aoki and Alan Walker Drop Reimagined Collab “Are You Lonely”

SteveAoki

Click Here to Download/Stream/Purchase “Are You Lonely”

Today, two-time Grammy nominated DJ and ProducerSteve Aoki and multi-platinum Norwegian DJ and Producer Alan Walker team up to drop re-envisioned track, “Are You Lonely” featuring ISÀK. The instrumental and lyrical melody are based on the original Lonelyrelease that came out at the end of last year on Alan Walker’s album, now reimagined with new lyrics, arrangement and performance.

Aoki and Walker have collaborated previously, remixing each other's tracks including Walker’s remix of All Night by Steve Aoki featuring Lauren Jauregui of Fifth Harmony, Steve’s remix of Alan Walker’sAll Falls Down, andLonely/Are You Lonely.

The track features Aoki and Walker’s signature sounds. Aoki’s skillful production and use of electronic sound compliment Walker’s profound and emotional musicality, featuring a deep bass & drum line punching beneath ISÀK’s distorted vocals that are begging to know “Are you lonely?” Speaking to Aoki and Walker’s use of non-earthly aesthetic, the song gives off a robotic deep house sound with the use of dark ambient keys and melodic builds.

The hook cries out "are you lonely? I’ll stand by you," dressed with suspenseful diminished chords below, and empty musical space that highlights the idea of loneliness and isolation. The track finishes out with Aoki’s classic melodic beats, full of heavy bass, deep drops, and pingy electronic sounds.

“Alan and I are kindred spirits and working with him on this track was so natural,” said Aoki. “ISÀK’s vocals make this piece really come alive, and I can’t wait for all of our fans to hear this track!”

“I’m super excited to get this one out there with my good friend Steve,” said Walker. “We already released a version called “Lonely” on my album, and it’s been a fan favorite during my shows. So it’s cool to get this new version out there as well!”
