The Met-inspired Todd Snyder Artist Collaboration

Todd Snyder's pivot from fashion and footwear to fine art with The Met is quite the collaboration. It's touching to hear Snyder's personal connection to art through his mother's influence and his experience studying art history at the Fashion Institute of Technology. “To be able to work with The Met is a huge honor. My mother was an artist and an art teacher and I can remember going to the Museum when I was taking art history classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology,” said Snyder.
And the fact that Snyder looked to specific artworks such as Van Gogh's Self-Portrait with a Straw Hat, Irises, Olive Trees, and Wheat Field with Cypresses, alongside Degas's View of Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme, says a great deal about the depth and richness of this collaboration.
