FRYE's Modern Icons Collection

THE FRYE COMPANY LAUNCHES THE NEXT GENERATION OF ICONS

Legendary style meets the modernity of today with the launch of The Modern Icons Collection, a new range of men’s and women’s boots inspired by Frye’s heritage boot designs.

For over 150 years, Frye’s iconic boots have defined eras, embodied social movements and been proudly worn by the courageous and the cool. With a legacy of unrivaled quality and craftsmanship, these boots capture the essence of timeless American style.

Now, Frye has created the next generation of Icons, made modern with refreshed details and refined profiles that exude the spirit of now.

Every Frye boot is bench crafted from the finest materials and expertly finished with time-honored (190-step) processes. Expert artisans have created the Modern Icons Collection by combining traditional techniques with modern advancements, keeping today’s customer in mind.

At the heart of each boot in the collection is the leather. Frye searched the world over for the best quality full-grain and vegetable tanned leathers. Every detail has been carefully considered, from more tapered shapes and refined profiles to constructions made with comfort in mind and soft-as-butter materials that feel broken-in from first wear. The finishing touches are the all-but-indestructible factory-forged rings, buckles and hardware.

THE COLLECTION
The Frye Modern Icons Collection is comprised of six styles for men and women, featuring a range of sumptuous leather and suede and a variety of washes and colors. Each one simultaneously honors the original icon while being undeniably unique and of the moment.

The next chapter of the story marries the past with the present: Frye’s long-standing heritage and passion for quality, craftsmanship and a quintessential expression of American iconic style meet a style profile that is distinctly in the now. Beauty, irreverence, harmony and rock ’n’ roll—the collection has it all.

8 of the Best Winter Fashion Tips

fashion tips for winter fashionado

by guest author: Alex

The nights are colder and the days are getting darker, which can only mean one thing; winter is here. Some people love winter, but normal people much prefer the warmer days. Dressing for warmer days is easier too; you can get away with throwing just about anything on and look great. Winter is a different story. You need to stay warm and comfortable while looking chic. To help you out, here are 8 of the best winter fashion tips:

1. Make Sure Your Outfits are Balanced Out

As you’ll want to stay warm during winter, it’s easy to end up being drowned by different fabrics. If you ensure your outfits are balanced out, you’ll look much better. You can balance your outfits out by making sure you wear something tighter on the bottom if you’re going baggier on the top, and vice versa.

2. Learn How to Layer Up

Layering is one of the most useful winter fashion tips you can use. Knowing how to layer will instantly make your outfits more interesting. You can then add layers or take them away depending on how cold the weather actually is.

3. Include a Pop of Colour

The weather doesn’t mean you should stop wearing colour completely. Why stick to blacks and greys and make life seem duller than it actually is? Include a pop of color and you’ll feel much better about the cold weather! Even just wearing a brightly coloured bag could make your outfit stand out.

4. Use Lots of Texture to add Interest

One of my favourite things about winter is wearing lots of texture. Texture helps to add depth to outfits and make them look so much more interesting. I love to wear leather, faux fur, and other wintery textures to amp up my looks. This sort of look can be created with Irish clothing too.

5. Always Accessorize

Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you should forget to accessorize. You can accessorize using scarves, hats, gloves, and even statement rings/necklaces.

6. Try to Show off Your Shape

Something I always notice about people during winter, is that they usually disguise their shape with their clothes. This can lead some people to look dowdy or frumpy, which isn’t ever a good look! Try to show off your shape by using a belt outside of your jacket, or on the next layer of your outfit. Looking hourglass is always a good thing!

7. Experiment With Scarves

Experiment with different scarves of patterns, lengths, and thickness to make a statement. You can tie them lots of different ways too, so you can look different each and every time you wear one!

8. Let Your Boots Do the Talking

I love wearing statement boots. Pick a pair you love and then let them do the talking with your outfits. Over the knee boots are set to be huge again this year!

Use these tips this winter and you’ll love the way your outfits look. Leave any tips of your own below!

Five Must-Have Shoes for Him for Every Occasion

shoes-men-fashionado

Alright guys, lets have a quick chat about shoes. How many shoes do you have? If your answer is a couple then you really need to keep reading. I have a lot, though not as much as my friend Jeff who's the gay-incarnation of Imelda Marcos.

Don't freak out. You don't need dozens, but then again, isn't variety the spice of life? Women like to have options, why shouldn't we? I went into my closet and pulled five pairs of shoes that I can't live without. 1- you need a boot (not cowboy boots!!). These are brown suede by Calvin Klein. I have other boots in black and in burgundy. Boots are great to wear in the Fall and Winter with almost anything from a pair of jeans to dress pants. If the boots are dressy enough, you can even wear them with a suit. Stay away from too much decoration. Good design doesn't need frills. 2- get casual in style. Don't wear your running shoes everywhere. I kick around in these aqua All Stars. I also have them in blue, purple, white, brown and cream. Wear them with shorts, jeans, khakis and if you can pull them off with a suit, more power to ya. Rock them! 3- Definitely incorporate a casual shoe dressier than sneakers. These blue suede Penguins with wing-tip stitching are perfect for almost every occasion. 4- Lace ups are an absolute must-have. A staple. Get a pair in black and one in brown. The design should be classic. Lace ups are the dressiest of shoes. Obviously wear them to special occasions or to the office if you work in a corporate environment. But if you want to change it up a bit, dress them down with a casual outfit. It's okay to bend the rules. The ones pictured are by Ferragamo and I purchased them over 10 years ago! Yep, take care of your shoes guys! 5- And finally, everyone man should own a loafer or three. These are by Gucci. I have another fave pair by Prada. I've worn them with all styles of looks to all sorts of events. I've dressed them up and dressed them down. You can find loafers in almost all brands. Find a pair you like. Tassels are fine as are straps across the top, but stay away from over-embellishments.

Have fun with fashion. Upgrading your personal style is manageable when done in smaller steps.
