LA PERLA PRESENTS THE PRE-FALL 2017 CAMPAIGN STARRING KENDALL JENNER SET IN THE KALEIDOSCOPIC WORLD OF AN ENGLISH POP ART GARDEN

A surreal garden of gigantic begonias, a colossal hibiscus, and reimagined tulips comes to life in a world of fantasy and art designed by La Perla Creative Director, Julia Haart.  Inspired by the works of Georgia O’Keeffe and Peter Max, Haart calls upon her favorite pieces from the pop-art and modernist movements to fuse the Pre-Fall 2017 Campaign with her own cast of psychedelic creativity.

Just as Dorothy journeyed to the Land of Oz, so too does the campaign’s protagonist, Kendall Jenner – entering into a world of her own imagination. Clad in Ready-to-wear, Lingerie, and Beachwear from the La Perla Pre-Fall 2017 Collection, Jenner exudes the certainty and self-assurance of a true heroine – owning her world through confidence and empowered femininity.

Captured through the inventive lens of Mert & Marcus, the vibrant colors and molded shapes of the La Perla collection take center-stage. The explosive visual message is intended to shock and transport the viewer to a world of fantasy, color, and art.

The campaign features the new La Perla Slip Dress which boasts a built-in padded bra and sculpted bodice sewn from the world’s finest stretch silk with Leavers lace detailing. Other featured pieces include a limited-edition haute couture crystal embroidered dress, a one-piece swimsuit with translucent paillettes embroidery, and a lingerie set adorned with floral embroidered Leavers lace and velvet detailing.

KENDALL JENNER AND MARY J. BLIGE WEAR LA PERLA HAUTE COUTURE TO THE 2017 MET GALA

Kendall Jenner and Mary J. Blige attend the 2017 Met Gala clad in two creations from the La Perla Haute Couture Collection designed by Creative Director Julia Haart. Jenner donned an all-over crystal draped gown in dégradé shades, complete with a barely-there painted macramé bodysuit. Blige debuted La Perla’s latest innovation: latex lace. The corseted column gown in stretch tulle, latex lace, and silk cady perfectly links La Perla’s lingerie heritage with its future in haute couture.

Created from 85,000 hand painted and placed crystals, Jenner’s La Perla gown is a culmination of over 160 hours of work, spanning 5 cities and 26 craftsmen. Each hand painted crystal is placed en dégradé, creating a flow of color from Diamond into Jet Hematite and finishing off in Jet Black.

“I was inspired by Rei Kawakubo’s concept of ‘un-fabric’ and her ability to create movement out of seemingly immobile materials. So, I created my own ‘un-fabric’ by affixing stones to a single thread, creating a beautiful and liquid suspension that mirrored the qualities of a fine silk.” – Julia Haart, La Perla Creative Director

Inspired by Rei Kawakubo’s concept of ‘un-fabric,’ Creative Director Julia Haart created hand-sculpted latex lace as the principal feature for Blige’s provocative column gown. Starting with a corset that features a built-in La Perla bra, the black stretch tulle is adorned with scalloped latex lace and hand-placed boning detail.

“I am so honored to be attending the Met Gala with the legendary Mary J. Blige. Her strength and femininity inspired me to create a gown that is both tough and feminine – strong and sexy.” – Julia Haart, La Perla Creative Director

KENDALL JENNER, ISABELI FONTANA AND LIU WEN EMBODY THE CONCEPT OF LIBERATION IN THE NEW LA PERLA S/S 2017 CAMPAIGN

KENDALL JENNER, ISABELI FONTANA AND LIU WEN EMBODY THE CONCEPT OF LIBERATION IN THE NEW LA PERLA S/S 2017 CAMPAIGN SHOT BY STEVEN KLEIN

Shattered glass, bra bursting in flame, an antiquated constrictive corset.  These symbolic images have been chosen by American photographer Steven Klein to underline the key concept of the new La Perla SS17 campaign: the liberation of every woman from the need to suffer for beauty. This style revolution, which starts from the body and follows every movement with luxurious stretch materials and expertly crafted forms, is born from the brand’s deep understanding of how to enhance and celebrate the female form.

La Perla’s lingerie, ready-to-wear and beachwear collections for Spring/Summer 2017 are brought to life through Steven Klein’s lens, with an explosive visual message which underlines the personalities of the three top models who are the faces of the new collection.

Kendall Jenner is the new star of this campaign and was personally selected by La Perla’s creative director, Julia Haart to interpret the highly innovative path that the brand has set out on. Kendall’s contemporary charisma adds an unmistakable touch to every garment, simultaneously highlighting the modernity and the relaxed, self-assured elegance of each piece she wears.

Isabeli Fontana is a face of the La Perla brand for the second time, her Latin allure bringing to life the garments which were created to celebrate curves as a symbol of female identity.

Liu Wen, the first Chinese model to reach the top of the international rankings, renews her role as ambassador of the La Perla style in the Far East and reveals her more intense and sensual side.

The campaign shot by Steven Klein is broken down into a series of images full of intense colors that focus on the luxury of the silks and the exclusive fabrics which represent the soul not only of the lingerie garments but also of the new ready-to-wear collection which has marked Julia Haart's arrival as creative director.

PHOTOS: Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2015

The annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show aired last night on CBS... or as I like to call it, the Victoria's Secret soft-porn fashion show, which wouldn't be too far of a stretch considering when the company first launched, select stores came with an adult toy section, hence, Victoria's "secret."

While I don't care much for the underwear line, I do love and appreciate the extravagant wings, costuming and accessories, all the feathers, bling, shoes and the overall themes. And the fact they opened to show with Pat Benatar's Heartbreaker scored big points [with me]. Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner were crowd pleasers of course. They looked fabulous. I believe it was Victoria's Secret president who said the show has become more than a fashion show, it's entertainment. Enjoy the slideshow!

Mario Testino's "Towel Series" with Justin Bieber & Kendall Jenner

Photographer Mario Testino once snapped a photo of model Kate Moss in towel after a shower and posted it to Instagram. Little did he realize at the time that a "private club" was forming. Testing now has an ongoing series of pretty famous people wearing nothing but a towel, hence, the "Towel Series." For his latest, Cody Simpson is snuggly wrapped around Gigi Hadid, a classic Kendall Jenner, a relaxed Ansel Elgort and a hard-bodied, abs-blessed Justin Bieber all pose for the acclaimed fashion photographer in their towel. Must be charmed life to be Testino!
