The jointly developed capsule collection is based on 100% NATURE products from CALIDA, which are made of compostable, sustainable TENCEL™️, Lyocell and bear the Cradle to Cradle Certified™️ label. The 100% compostable collection takes the unique cradle-to-cradle approach to the next level, representing a further step toward conscious, holistic design. Aptly enough, the motto is ‘We want a better world’. The key statement is inspired by Viktor&Rolf's Haute Couture collection ‘Fashion Statements’ and is the unifying slogan at the heart of the sustainable collection.

“The capsule collection is a unique blend of extravagance and sustainability. By working with Viktor&Rolf we are proving that high fashion and the highest standards of sustainability are not mutually exclusive. We are sending out a signal and setting new standards in sustainable fashion.’”- Janine Weiz-Bühler, Director of Brand & Product at CALIDA

Viktor & Rolf also see the collaboration as the realization of a shared vision: “We are very proud of the collection we have developed with CALIDA – the first of its kind. For us it is a meaningful exploration that further deepens our notion of conscious design.” - Viktor & Rolf

The collection is based on extravagant prints in vintage color combinations with a wink to the Woodstock generation and the 70s.

Across all styles and product groups you will find the main motifs of the globe, the rose and the tree. Paired with the slogan ‘We want a better world,’ shirts with cool wing details for women and casual sweatshirts make a real statement. The rose and tree in all-over prints create extravagant looks with high fashion flair. Another signature print in the collection is the all-over text print. This design plays with nature terms like ‘sky blue’, ‘garden’, ‘waterfall’ and ‘dandelion’ in numerous different languages further emphasizing the nature orientation of the C2C capsule collection.

The capsule collection is divided into two stories. The first teaser drop for S/S arrives in stores in May as Story 0 with a total of 23 styles, including t-shirts, seamless panties, sleepshirts, short pajamas for her and boxer shorts, boxer briefs and shirts for him. Story 1 launches in October, just in time for the Christmas season, expanding the collection with around 40 new styles of daywear, loungewear and nightwear.

Story 1 adds ‘Golden Leaf’ and ‘Azure’ – strong autumnal shades with extravagant cut details including the playful ruching details on the loungewear shirts and pants. All of the styles for women and men can be mixed and matched with each other and work just as well outside as they do at home.

On the back of each top you will find the logo for the collaboration which combines the two brands, not with the traditional X, but a heart – the iconic Viktor & Rolf signet. This captivating detail, once again, emphasizes the bond between CALIDA and Viktor & Rolf and the values they share.

Heron Preston FW20 Menswear

Heron Preston FW20: We’re living in strange times, between hope and despair. We are questioning our consciousness, core beliefs and ideas and asking ourselves: ‘What the fuck are we doing?’

It’s too easy to put up with what’s damaging – it’s time to use our ingenuity to create a better world and a healthy environment.

The phrase It’s All Good, It’s All Fucked, is taken from Juliana Spahr’s critically acclaimed book, That Winter The Wolf Came, described as ‘a revelation of the possibilities for resistance in the present’.

“Look at the world as the largest construction zone that we've ever witnessed, it's like a work in progress,” says Preston. “It’s this idea of picking apart and putting it back together in better ways with new solutions, innovations and new technologies. Using your brain to imagine a better world and then designing that into reality.”

The fashion industry is one such place where entrenched systems and narratives are being challenged. It’s where we can begin. Workwear, a passion of Heron Preston for its integrity and sense of purpose, is worn by doers. It is the most authentic form of streetwear, seen everywhere from the mail-carrier to the sanitation department worker.

FW20 includes recycled nylons, thermo-sealed GORE-TEX suiting, guaranteed waterproof and breatheable; cordura puffers; functional pockets on dressed-up tailoring and waterproof zipper details. Waffled denim is inspired by Japanese construction worker outfits and wool felt has a touch-reactive membrane. Women’s footwear features a spirit-level heel. Informed choices are our intention going forward, with HPC navigating certified materials and practices through constantly improving traceability. Preston’s collection in-a- collection, Uniform, is additionally a dedicated space for research, experimentation and development around sustainability.

Reese Cooper FW20 Menswear

For Fall / Winter 2020, designer Reese Cooper asks himself the existential question: “If a tree falls does it make a sound?”

Following on from his award as CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund runner-up, Cooper’s next chapter confirms his core inspirations—vintage Americana fused with the great outdoors and his impressive sustainability goals. The designer embraces an elevated technical approach and combines it with the brand’s sustainable fabrics - such as knitwear made from cotton and recycled paper and a new denim wash technique called Wiser Wash® that utilizes less than one cup of water.

The collection is by far his largest to date and features an array of bespoke fabrics including a waterproof forest scene; embroidered foliage; and custom camouflage—all designed in-house.

John Elliot FW20 Menswear

For his Fall/Winter 2020 menswear collection entitled “A Wonderful Yesterday” John Elliott
expands his aesthetic further as he explores a way of life that is different to how we live now, and then makes it relevant to today.

The exploration and introduction of advanced developments in fabric treatments and applications is key - his high-tech leather is stand-out here.

The collection and its fabrications were inspired by a family cabin hidden in California’s northern Sierra Mountains and results in a collection made up of modular pieces spurred by the past and present of this remote spot.

Viktor & Rolf FW20 Mister Mister Collection

With Mister Mister, Viktor & Rolf introduce a new creative expression to their brand universe. Conveying the designer’s complementary bond, Viktor & Rolf Mister Mister is an extension of fashion artists' Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren's personal style - an intimate reflection, understated yet cleverly detailed with a myriad of textured patchworks and prints.

The collection embraces the modern dandy as a form of self-expression. Through a mingling of impeccable tailoring with casual wear, Viktor & Rolf Mister Mister crafts a playful take on formal wear. Homage is paid to an underlying sense of humor and irony through quirky conversational prints inspired by dandy narratives. Various top hats, either blown up or in micro patterns, executed in jacquards and trompe-l’oeil techniques, create a visual background that inspire dialogue amongst themselves.

Classic suits are crafted in playful patterns and casual garments feature formal detailing. Prints and patchworks give way to standout details, with several patchworks throughout the collection crafted with leftover materials hinting to the brand's recent Haute Couture collections that have placed an emphasis on the designer's notion of conscious design. This season’s vibrant color pallet is infused with classic masculine tones, highlighting the fresh accent ‘Winter blue’. Classic dandy pieces are defined by unexpected twists in detail such as tuxedo jackets that are finished with raw edges or men’s shirts that are adorned with asymmetric patchworks. The collection consists of around 130 pieces - from shirts and knits to formalwear, outerwear and accessories.

Marni FW20 Menswear

Marni_Men_FW20_029.jpg

A repertoire of clothing archetypes: objects treated as persistences memory, assembled together as beautiful leftovers to create unsettling hybrids. Stop, cut, rewind, paste. Bisected coats. Antithetical frocks. Juxtaposed jackets. Fragmented outerwear. Shrunken sweaters and shirts. Dilated trousers. Right and left don't match. Front and back even less, not to mention top and bottom.

Everything is too wide, or too narrow, or too long. Time has left its evident and palpable mark on everything: abrasions; cuts; fading; missing parts. Hypnotically patterned or monochromatic uniforms land underneath everything. Distorted sneakers and boots complete. Flashbacks and fast forwards of styles and movements are united in a choral flow of gestures by the choreography of Michele Rizzo.
