Let's get physical on

Project Runway

. Yeah, that's why I watch the show. NOT! I

do

think it's great that

Heidi Klum

offers the opportunity to the designers to create a "look" for her New Balance line, but... I DO NOT WATCH PROJECT RUNWAY TO SEE ACTIVEWEAR. Perhaps, in the future, they could handle this as a mini-challenge as part of a greater one?? We are not going to get a WOW-factor in spandex and sneakers. Helen was the winner and Karen went home. The best part of the show was

Michael Kors

returning as a guest judge.

Project Runway Shoes!

Project Runway gets Soleful

While some of the designers showed us they've got sole other's are clearly still sole searching... it wasn't a super wild, drama-crazy Project Runway but the weak links are poking through more and more. Frankly, the highlight for me was at the beginning when Tim Gunn introduced the challenge. It was all about shoes and what a better place to be than inside the impressive Marie Claire shoe closet with Editor-in-Chief Anne Fulenwider. Each designer chose a shoe that would inspire a runway look. There were some good designs but no wow-factors. [I think] the designers were so cautious not to over-design, as to not compete with their shoe, that the looks were kind of boring.

I don't know any women that would wear such a hideous halter, full skirt and flats! Bradon better get it together or he's going to be dancing in the streets and off the show! And by dancing I mean crying. Like a little girl. With an ugly beard.

project-runway-shoes-fashionado

I like Dom. A lot. I don't know what the judges are not seeing in her but I wouldn't be surprised if she kicks into high gear soon and everyone take notice. She brings a young, fresh take to everything. Her designing and styling is great. Yet she's always just "safe."

project-runway-shoes-fashionado
project-runway-shoes-fashionado

O look. It's Holiday Whore 80's Barbie. She's got the over-sized chunky sweater, tight black mini and knee high fuck-me boots. Jeremy dear. You're pretty and could read me the phone book with that sexy accent but you lack good taste. And after this week, the judges are thinking the same.

project-runway-shoes-fashionado
project-runway-shoes-fashionado

[He doesn't know it, but...] Justin gave us Ab Fab realness with his Patsy Stone look-a-like. It works though. It's sexy, tough and edgy. I would have maybe given her a ponytail.

project-runway-shoes-fashionado
project-runway-shoes-fashionado

The yellow top is the only thing I have a real issue with. Mainly because it's ugly. The skirt and jacket look good and do not need the weird looking v-shape top to make them stand out. Karen was safe.

project-runway-shoes-fashionado
project-runway-shoes-fashionado

Alexandria didn't win but she could have with this super cool thigh-high Gladiator... The judges loved the juxtaposition of the complex shoe with the effortless dress design. I loved it too.

project-runway-shoes-fashionado
project-runway-shoes-fashionado

Love it or hate it? Well, lets just say there are things about Kate's design that really work, like the flowy skirt and the blouse, somewhat. The high collar looks awkward. Though the corset-like construction is great. It's the styling I have the biggest issue with. The oversized sunglasses make the model look like a fly and the Victorian lips are just stupid.

project-runway-shoes-fashionado
project-runway-shoes-fashionado

I want to say something bad here. I really do. You know that I can't stand gaybitch Ken. BUT he designed a really good look. I can't be mean, this week.

project-runway-shoes-fashionado

BIG drama, not really. Alexander (above) and Miranda both created red plaid pants. Alexander was safe, Miranda got

aufed

.

project-runway-shoes-fashionado
project-runway-shoes-fashionado

Now this was a fluke... Helen won the challenge. What? You heard me. This fragile flower took home the win. Hey - It's a good look and I love the cape. I doubt Helen will keep it up though. Her talent and ideas aren't the most solid and her skill needs improvement. Time will tell...

Michael Kors

guest judges on the next Project Runway. I'm looking forward to that but is he filling in for someone OR do they dare have two nelly queens on the panel??!! Double the bitchery...

Project Runway "Glamping"

Project Runway goes "Glamping"

Last week's Project Runway had the stink of an unconventional challenge. The designers went camping [or "glamping" as they called it] so I immediately had horrific visions of dresses made from nature. You know, like twigs, dirt and leaves... Designer Kate had more of a

Survivor

mindset, suggesting they use their own blood for dying fabric. YUCK! Thankfully, none of the above occurred! The designers relaxed and enjoyed the day while seeking inspiration for design. The fabric came from MOOD!

project-runway-glamping-fashionado
project-runway-glamping-fashionado

Alexander's side-zipper gown was a judge's favorite for fit and style. It was beautiful and had a lot of stage presence. I loved the hand-painted branch-like design flowing through it which was inspired by the silhouette of trees at night. The only thing I didn't care for was the leathery textile used for the train. It felt forced and out of place. He should have kept it in the dress fabric.

project-runway-glamping-fashionado
project-runway-glamping-fashionado

Bradon struggled. Struggled. And struggled some more. His workroom visit from Tim didn't go well and he just couldn't make things work. I don't care for this piece one bit. It looks like college work. Bradon pulled it together enough to be safe.

project-runway-glamping-fashionado
project-runway-glamping-fashionado

Robbed, once again. Dom was "just" safe with this design. I love it. The neckpiece, the styling and execution were all elegant and excellent. I don't know what the judges are thinking.

project-runway-glamping-fashionado
project-runway-glamping-fashionado

Helen. Hmmmm? There are things I like and dislike about this dress. I like very much the shredded layered effect. Though I've seen it done better. Helen's been safe by default. She's out of her league. Oh and I hate the shoes!

project-runway-glamping-fashionado
project-runway-glamping-fashionado

I was pleasantly surprised with Miranda's dress. She seems to have gained a higher level of confidence ever since that idiot, unicorn-loving freak was aufed. Keep it up!

project-runway-glamping-fashionado
project-runway-glamping-fashionado

Jeremy wrote a love letter to his husband while on the glamping trip. He was so moved that he transcribed the romantic words to the fabric and created a biased cut dress. The judges went crazy over it. I threw up.

project-runway-glamping-fashionado
project-runway-glamping-fashionado

I'm not too sure about Kate's baby doll tulle dress, though it's great for the runway. What I am absolutely crazy about is the latex, patent-leathery harness top. Smokin' HOT!

project-runway-glamping-fashionado
project-runway-glamping-fashionado

Ken proved that he's just a bitch. I'm glad his dress was in the bottom and I hope his ass is gone asap. The first word out of Nina Garcia when she critiqued it: [spelled out] "B-O-R-I-N-G"...

project-runway-glamping-fashionado
project-runway-glamping-fashionado

Winning the challenge, much to Ken's despise, was Alexandria. Nina said the look was very editorial. Zac Posen, who is NOT a fan of drop-crotch pants was won over by these. As was Tim. The judges raved about how modern and edgy the overall design was and praised Alexandria for taking the risk.

project-runway-glamping-fashionado

Turn on the waterworks. Justin, who may possibly be the sweetest Project Runway contestant ever, was sent home over this one. He experimented (and failed) with creating a lace-like substance out of hot glue. Nina Garcia was on a rampage last week with one-liners and referred to the "lace" and it's placement as a "foaming vagina"... eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!! I threw up again, thanks for the visual Nina!

When Justin, in tears, returned to backstage to announce he was out, everyone gathered around him for a big group hug. Everyone was crying. I was crying. In the history of Project Runway, I have never seen anything like this before. Tim Gunn, also crying, saved the day. Well, actually, he saved Justin from elimination! Tim used his vote and vetoed the judge's decision.

Homecoming Dresses

'Tis the season for Homecoming Dresses

In some regions of the nation, teenagers have been in school for a couple of weeks now, while in other regions, they are about to begin their school year. All the same, the word "Homecoming" is on their minds.

While boys may not care as much, it's a completely different story for the girls. They are thinking [and fantasizing] about shoes, hair, makeup and of course, Homecoming dresses!

Homecoming is a big deal and wearing the perfect dress is a must. Especially when there's a certain coveted title at stake: Queen!

Shopping at the mall may be fun but unfortunately, it can be limiting too. And ladies like having choices.

Luckily, websites like DressFirst offers an incredible selection of beautiful Homecoming dresses.

sheath one shoulder chiffon mini

Don't underestimate the fashion sense of a teenager. Girls today are up and current with the latest styles and trends.

A-line princess organza satin

princess scoop neck charmeuse

one shoulder mini chiffon

a-line strapless knee length satin

These are just some of my favorite looks. While they are young, fun and youthful, these dresses also say that you have great taste. Amazing style. And love fashion. Whether it's an A-line, princess, asymmetrical, knee-length, halter, strapless, empire waist, one shoulder or a sweetheart bodice that you are looking for, you will find them here. And as for the touch? Feel? Choose from satins, charmeuse, chiffons and so on. Try and find all of this at the mall. Happy shopping ladies. May you all be Homecoming Queens!

Phillip Lim for Target

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target LookBook:

Usually, I only buy cleaning products at Target, not my clothing. BUT the new

Phillip Lim

collaboration may change all that for me and I'm sure many others. The highly anticipated collection hits selected Target stores on September 15th but images have been released on the web to a lot of praise. Lim delivers

sophisticated and contemporary

looks for women and men, including bags, satchels and shoes. From leather jackets to trenchcoats, the day, noon and night looks range in prices starting at $19.99 - $299.99. In June of 2013 Phillip Lim received the CFDA award for Accessory Designer of the Year. I predict that this collection will fly off Target shelves.
