Who would of imagined that one of the most adventurous and avant garde venues and events would be and would occur at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport? Well, that was exactly the scene on May 18th as the inaugural Global Runway took flight, along with more than 250 attendees, and soared high above every event in the city. Global Runway was chic, upscale and boasted a NYFW vibe.

So what exactly is Global Runway? Global Runway is a fashion presentation highlighting a selection of the global offerings available from ATL Skypointe, the award-winning concessions program from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Guests experienced an industry-quality fashion presentation featuring the latest Spring/Summer 2017 collections from Tommy Hilfiger, Swarovski, Sean John and local emerging lifestyle brand Ateaelle. The event also bridged the gap between beauty and style by hosting a pop-up shop featuring national brands ExOfficio, Bijoux Terner, Luxe International and Mori Luggage.

The Global Runway campaign also featured six influential style ambassadors who brought to life the newest style offerings at ATL. The 2017 style ambassadors included Jenna Wessinger (, E. Vincent Martinez (, Satchel Jester (, Emily Loftiss ( and sisters Laticia and D’ANA Rolle (

In addition to the fashion presentation and pop-up shop, ATL unveiled the campaign’s official commercial featuring style ambassadors E. Vincent Martinez, Satchel Jester and Jenna Wessinger. Shooting this commercial was truly an amazing event in itself. With a talented director, top-notch production team and a vision, an experience was captured and a tale of luxury and lifestyle was told.

New Year New You: Photo Shoot 2017

Blazer & Pants: ETRO Shirt: Brooks Brothers Shoes: Ferragamo Eyewear: Warby Parker

As the new year unfolds, many of us focus on a "new you." For me, this meant a fashionado upgrade. It was time to switch it up a bit with new looks, different styles. I took a more sophisticated approach to my personal style and image so in some of the photos I'm wearing Etro, one of my favorite design labels. Etro does pattern like no one else can and their fit is perfection! And because [I think] I'm a cool 50 year old, I couldn't resist and had to stage a few shots that showcased my ink. You can be dapper yet still be edgy.

One of the best photographers in Atlanta also happens to be one of my best friends... Tomas Espinoza. We've been working together for a long time. Tomas is a perfectionist as am I, so we're a great match. I was able to pull him away from his busy shooting schedule at HGTV and as a freelance photographer to spend half-a- day with me! I'll be replacing some of the fashionado banner images with these. Thanks Tomas!

Runway Photos: Doggies on the Catwalk 2016

The 9th Annual Doggies on the Catwalk at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta set the evening on fire with the latest looks by some of the properties chicest brands. Our philanthropic models and guests raised over $70K for Canine Assistants - a nonprofit that provides service dogs to children and adults with physical disabilities and special needs. Models showed off SS/AW looks by Akris, Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet, Christian Louboutin, COS, Les Copains, Tod's, Theory and Planet Blue. The models sizzled in their show-stopping looks but the Goldens and Golden puppies stole the show and we're okay with that. Some strutted their stuff and others were a little shy and had to be tempted with Milkbone treats.

Another show-stopping moment to Doggies on the Catwalk came from emerging designers from the Art Institute of Atlanta who showcased three dynamic runway looks. So much talent!

Bai drinks kept us cool and hydrated near a swanky a seating area by Roche Bobois. And speaking of swanky, the stage set up for emcees Monica Pearson and Grace Murphy, furnished by Jonathan Adler was fabulous. A Porsche 911 and 718 Boxter S gave an "it" factor to the event, the florals were exquisite and guests came to impress in their best summer looks. Great beats from DJ Rasyrious and perfect weather... the countdown to year 10 begins!

Fittings Day 1: Doggies on the Catwalk

e vincent martinez and monica pearson

Yesterday started what will be a very long week for me of fittings for Doggies on the Catwalk. Of course, I'm on the beautiful Shops Buckhead Atlanta property so that makes the day feel a little  more luxurious. The first fitting was with director of development for Canine Assistants, Grace Murphy. We went to COS where we style her in a very chic, layered dress. At 1PM I met up with Faven Ressom at Planet Blue - OMG - Faven was "built" for the brand. Everything she wore fit like a glove. Gorgeous.

After being stopped by security for filming - we got it all sorted out - I had prior approval, we went into Les Copains to wait for Monica Pearson (and cool off!) Monica entered the room and Les Copains lit up with her amazing energy. She loved the brand and loved her looks. We caught all of fit on video for a documentary I am producing about Doggies on the Catwalk.

The last fitting of the day took me back to Planet Blue, this time with my friend Holly Firfer. We determined her personal style leans towards the Boho chic. We played in the dressing room. A lot.

Today I'll spend all afternoon between Alice + Olivia, Akris, Theory and Les Copains. Yay fashion!

Hurry and get your tickets to the show! Your $50 ticket includes signature cocktails, lite bites, a silent auction, DJ and fashion show. BUT most importantly, it helps children and adults with disabilities by providing them service dogs.

Celebrating its 10th year anniversary, Charleston Fashion Week has proven to be an impressive fashion force featuring talented emerging designers, CFDA anointed featured designers and a fashion icon of the most fabulous kind. My colleague and friend, Dr. Courtney A. Hammonds and I attended and we were so blown away that we simply had to talk about it! From the non-stop parade of street-style to meeting Fern Mallis, we cover it all in this video recap. *Thank you to Two83 Media for the video production, Brandi Mallory for make-up and Annysa at Roche Bobois for the chic set. Spring is on its way!

spring e vincent martinez fashionado

Hello SPRING! I know you're not here yet though it sure looks and feels like it. The pleasures of living in Atlanta.

Days like today (and just like last week when this photo was taken) are heavenly reminders that this is Winter in the South. I love it.

This is not a "fashion" post where talk about Spring fashion and tell you what to wear and how to wear it... So what about the photo? Well, that's where it gets very exciting. VERY! I was asked by Atlanta Pet Life Magazine to be featured on the cover of their Spring issue along with my dog Simone, aka, Miss Fashionado. I am thrilled! O- Em- Gee!

The Cover!! (Wow... not this photo because Simone isn't in it.) There is another one with her, that I will share when the issue comes out. It's amazing!

While my favorite photographer, Tomas Espinoza, who is also my dear friend (and one of the best photogs in the city, btw) and I were hopping around my favorite property, The Shops Buckhead Atlanta, we came across this floral billboard. Tomas and his creative eagle-eye spotted it across the street from the newly opened Tom Ford. This was the perfect backdrop for my lime green Mr. Turk blazer. End of story.

Not entirely... The Shops Buckhead Atlanta is the hosting location for Doggies on the Catwalk, so when I conceptualized the cover shot for Atlanta Pet Life I knew immediately that this had to be our "set." With that said, save the date for Saturday June 4, 2016 for the 9th annual Doggies on the Catwalk. Our benefiting sponsor is Canine Assistants - a truly inspiring non-profit that is changing lives, big and small. Service dogs and high-end labels will make quite the fashion statement. There's much more Doggies on the Catwalk info coming your way, including tickets and VIP. Stay tuned!

Happy New Year 2016!

e vincent martinez fashionado

I have a pretty optimistic approach to life. Always have. That feeling is always magnified this time of year. "Letting Go" will be my mantra in 2016. I've been embracing the concept for a long while but after turning fifty last November, I decided it's time to put into practice the act of letting go. It's a mindset, that's all.

This is not a New Year's resolution nor is it meant to foster negativity. Instead, it's all about personal happiness, fulfillment and quality of life. Sure, there will always be some level of stress surrounding us, i.e. work, traffic... but we are the architects of our lives and we're in control of how much influence others have on it. We often try to make others "happy" at the expense of our's. It's OKAY to say "NO."

So I've just shared something personal. But it is something that is within my reach and will make me a happier, better person. What will make you happy? How will you attain it? Make. It. Happen.

[Professionally] I've been laying the groundwork for exciting projects and events in 2016. Expect more content on fashionado this year in fashion, music, art and personal opinion. I'm loving my job as an adjunct professor in fashion at the Art Institute of Atlanta and I'm eager to see where this takes me - for sure NYFW and Charleston Fashion Week! And finally, but certainly not least, Doggies on the Catwalk 2016! Last year's event set the tone with our upscale move to The Shops Buckhead and this year's event, slated for early June, promises to be even more fabulous!

I wish everyone a very happy, healthy and loving new year!
