Ecco Domani® Announces $50,000 Donation to the Meals on Wheels COVID-19 Response Fund AND Reveals Collaboration with Fashion Designer Brandon Maxwell

Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio today announced a $50,000 donation to the Meals on Wheels COVID-19 Response Fund established by Meals on Wheels America. Inspired by fashion designer Brandon Maxwell, who has previously supported the organization and whom Ecco Domani enlisted to give its bottle a bold new look for the 2020 summer season, the donation will benefit the Meals on Wheels COVID-19 Response Fund to help local senior nutrition providers actively responding to the evolving COVID-19 crisis across the U.S., as well as assist with the supply of nutritious meals to vulnerable senior citizens during this pandemic.

While Brandon Maxwell's limited-edition label will hit shelves nationwide on June 1, Ecco Domani was inspired to lend its support and unveil the collaboration early after seeing Maxwell's commendable, proactive response to help those affected by the current crisis.

"Brandon Maxwell's bold approach to design was one of the initial reasons we were drawn to partnering with him," said Maud Pansing, Vice President of Marketing for Ecco Domani. "Not only does Brandon inspire us through design, but his recent philanthropic efforts encouraged us to provide support through our own donation commitment to Meals on Wheels America. We're filled with pride to announce our limited-edition label collaboration with Brandon and hope Ecco Domani fans and consumers everywhere can look forward to embracing their statement-making style this summer."

Brandon Maxwell officially announced his partnership with Ecco Domani on his Instagram yesterday, offering viewers a first look at his limited-edition label which is dressed in his signature monogram and leopard print designs. Classically chic, the label's standout pattern complements Ecco Domani's timeless, quality flavor profile, making it a trusted Pinot Grigio for nearly 25 years. The limited-edition label from Brandon Maxwell marks Ecco Domani’s sixth iteration of its annual Designer Label program.

"When Ecco Domani initially approached me to design a limited-edition label, it felt synchronistic as I grew up around the brand through my father's distribution company," said Brandon Maxwell. "For the design, I drew inspiration from my Fall/Winter 2019 collection to create a label that fully captures Ecco Domani's bold personality and offers consumers the opportunity to make a confident statement, even if enjoying a glass from the comforts of home."

The limited-edition label from Brandon Maxwell marks Ecco Domani's sixth iteration of its annual Designer Label program. The eye-catching bottle will be available for purchase in stores and via third-party delivery services nationwide beginning June 1, 2020.

Brandon Maxwell is a luxury women's ready-to-wear label launched in New York in 2015. HAMPTON + HUDSON COMMUNITY BAR & RESTAURANT Now Open in INMAN PARK

Restaurateurs Billy and Jenn Streck opened their first solo concept, Hampton & Hudson (H+H) - a community driven bar and restaurant located in Inman Park. Billy, best-known as co-owner of the bustling, Midtown hotspots Cypress Street Pint and Plate, GRAIN drink shop and eatery and Atwoods Pizza Cafe, has created another approachable and affordable haunt with his wife in one of Atlanta’s fastest growing neighborhoods. Jenn, an Atlanta native, has years of experience in both the music and bar industries and brings a wealth of talent and vision to their first concept.

"After almost 20 years in the bar and restaurant industry, we are so excited to be opening Hampton + Hudson in Inman Park. We have always wanted to be a part of this incredible neighborhood and we’re simply thrilled that we finally have the chance!” says Jenn Streck.

A true family business, Billy and Jenn have put their hearts and souls into H+H, creating an old-world style bar and restaurant that embodies the warmth and hospitality of being welcomed into someone’s home. The 3,500-square foot space boasts a mezzanine, large, central bar, private dining areas and an intimate outdoor patio with a fire pit. The interior has distinctive touches inspired by many of their favorite go-to spots from their travels and when they lived in the East Village in New York, but also plays to both the spirit of the neighborhood and Atlanta’s ever-growing dining scene.  Custom overhead bar lighting from local Atlanta designer Tobin Hagler illuminates the main room that features an open kitchen and is outfitted with reclaimed 1800's barn wood, tufted leather booths, Colonial bar stools, handcrafted tables adorned with fresh flowers in Mason jars, an antique cash register on display, and a large garage door leading to the outdoor, covered patio.

"We painted a quote on our window before we opened by Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, a man that gained fame in the 1800’s as an epicure and a gastronome that is the core of our mission. It says, 'To invite people to dine with us is to make ourselves responsible for their well-being for as long as they are under our roofs," and we stand by that,” adds Billy.

With an expansive bar as the centerpiece of the restaurant, H+H will offer 20+ craft beers on draft, wine, cocktails and ice coffee on draft. Tweaked classics and seasonal cocktails are playful, delicious and delightfully uncomplicated.  Jefferson’s Jetpack - Cathead Vodka, lime juice, Orgeat, Framboise, Violette’s, egg white; Snow On Tha Bluff - Cathead Honeysuckle Vodka, lemon juice, blood orange shrub, Strega, ginger beer; Upper East Side - gin, elderflower liquor, lemon juice, ginger, fresh raspberries, and mint; and Hard Times - tequila, blood orange, lime, Cassis served as a shot with a High Life Pony are among the spring offerings. Two pocket-friendly, brews will also be constants on the rotating beer list. H+H South House, SweetWater 420, will be just $3 while the H+H North House, Brooklyn Lager will be a whopping $4.

At the helm of the kitchen with a wood-fired grill and rotisserie oven stands Executive Chef Jason Hall (Saltyard, Livingston Restaurant & Bar) who presents a thoughtful menu that is packed full of locally sourced ingredients and covers all the bases, from snacks, salads and sharable dishes to impressive entrees, desserts, and late night offerings. Redefining the meaning of accessible pub food, standouts ideal for sharing include:  Hampton Hot Chicken Biscuit Sliders -  herb and cheddar biscuits, hot sauce,  spicy B+B pickles; house-made jerky; Steak Tartare Tacos with a potato chip shell; and the Duck Ham with little moo, fig aigre-deux, baby mustard greens served open-faced on sourdough from the “toast” menu. Mouthwatering “handheld" and “fork and knife options” include:  H+H’s signature Spies Like Us house blend burger topped with American cheese, Soviet Sauce, spicy house-made B&B pickles, and shredded lettuce; The Best Veggie Sandwich - Baba ganoush, smoked pepper, herbs, house-made focaccia; a half rotisserie chicken cooked for 24-hours; N.C. flounder fish + chips; and the cauliflower steak. Open for brunch, lunch, dinner and late night and with a kid’s menu, H+H also has numerous gluten free, vegetarian and dairy free options for all ages.

Hampton + Hudson is located in Inman Park at 299 N. Highland Ave., Unit L, Atlanta, GA 30307. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 a.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to midnight. For more on Hampton + Hudson, visit www.hamptonandhudson.com

Nando’s Spices Up Atlanta with 10-Day Pop-Up on the Atlanta BeltLine

Nando’s PERi-PERI, the Most Famous Sauce You’ve Never Heard of,
Now Widely Available in Atlanta and Across the Nation

Nando’s PERi-PERi, the most popular hot sauce from England to Australia, is now widely available in Atlanta, throughout Georgia and in over 10,000 of the nation’s biggest retailers including Safeway, Kroger, Fresh Market, Walmart and Publix. And to celebrate, Nando’s is throwing a 10-day pop-up party on the BeltLine to introduce Atlanta to the most famous sauce you’ve never heard of.

From Thursday May 5 to Saturday May 14, Nando’s will transform the Atlanta Beltline Bicycle warehouse into a vibrant party space and will kick off festivities with a Braai, a traditional South African party involving friends, fire and delicious Nando’s food. In addition, Nando’s surprise-and-delight teams have been leaving artfully designed packages of PERi-PERi sauce—bearing postmarks from Nando’s home in southern Africa—on the doorknobs of 40,000 fortunate souls in Midtown, the Old Fourth Ward, Decatur and other Atlanta neighborhoods.

The Nando’s pop-up, at 151 Sampson Street on the Beltline, started with an Instagram meetup on Thursday May 5. On Friday, Justin Anthony, master chef behind Atlanta’s Cape Dutch, 10 Degrees South and Biltong Bar, manned the grills at a killer Braai and help tell the story of Nando’s.  Anthony grew up within walking distance of one of the very first Nando’s restaurants in his hometown of Johannesburg, and will share his love of PERi-PERi. “You can say I’m mildly obsessed. I grew up eating Nando’s pretty much every day,” he said.

Nando’s PERi-PERi sauce is packed with flavor because it is made with sun-ripened lemons, onion, a dash of garlic and blended with our special ingredient – the African Bird’s Eye Chilli pepper. PERi-PERi (Swahili for ‘pepper pepper’) is the heart and soul of Nando’s PERi-PERi and the secret ingredient behind our 1,200 restaurants worldwide. One bite, and you will be hooked.

The 10-day Nando’s PERi-PERi pop-up will feature:

- The first time that Nando’s succulent PERi-PERi chicken—marinated for 24 hours and flame-grilled to perfection—will be served in Atlanta

- Local delicacies including PERi-PERi infused Old 4th Distillery Vodka and popsicles from King of Pops

-  Atlanta artists including DJ Santiago and muralist and illustrator Barry Lee

- Special Braais for local musicians, artists, foodies, fitness gurus and South African ex-pats

- Chicken and waffles brunches featuring PERi-PERi Bloody Marys

Why Atlanta? Nando’s is heating up Atlanta to celebrate the wide availability of PERi-PERi in Atlanta supermarkets. Atlanta also has a thriving community of South African ex-pats and a long tradition of loving chicken. Put it all together and we just know Atlantans will become Nando’s fans!

*My Nando's PERI-PERI experience was beyond amazing. It was the most delicious food ever, so flavorful and moist. I wanted more, except I was FULL! I did, however, take home a bottle of Nando's! YOU can too! CLICK on this link Nandosatl.com/saucygift  and get a friend a free bottle of Nando's (and then have them do the same for you!)
