Atlanta’s Favorite Celebration of Bacon, Beer, Booths, and Boisterous Hijinks - Proceeds Benefiting Dad's Garage Theatre Company

A fixture in the Atlanta community, Dad’s Garage Theatre’s 17th annual BaconFest will combine troughs upon troughs of cold beer and sizzlin' bacon with hilarious carnival games like a hobo wine tasting, naughty face painting, and a flip cup tournament manned by the best improvisers in the city.  Selling out every year, all proceeds benefit Dad’s Garage - a nonprofit theatre group that engages, cultivates and inspires artists and audiences alike by producing innovative, scripted and improvised works that are recognized locally, nationally and internationally for being undeniably awesome.

Bottomless Bacon (Starting at $50, online, $55 gate): Admission to the festival, unlimited game playing, and unlimited beer (Pale Ale, Tropical Torpedo, Otra Vez, Summerfest, and Miller Lite) and bacon.


Go WHOLE HOG! (Starting at $95, online, $100 gate): Bottomless Bacon Benefits, Access to VIP Room, Wider Selection of Beer (All the bottomless beers as well as Side Car and Big Foot), Access to a literal Whole Hog, and an April Loyalty Card that gives you free Dad's Garage shows for the month of April.

Depending upon availability, tickets can be purchased at the door. Pricing is subject to increase. The event will be held no matter rain or shine for ages 21 and up. Help Animals in Need With Your Old Mascara Wands

Your favorite mascara dries out, now what? Your first reaction might be to throw it away, but think again. You can now put your old mascara wands to good use and the best part, it benefits animals!

The Appalachian Wildlife Refuge in North Carolina has asked for donations before the opening of a new facility for injured and orphaned animals. Among these items includes clean mascara wands. They are extremely useful to help remove fly eggs and larva from the fur of animals and this is because the bristles are so close together. In order to clean the wands, simply run them under hot water, clean them with soap and mail them to the Appalachian Wild address.

Meet & Greet with the Service Dogs from Doggies on the Catwalk

Last weekend, a small group of models walking in the 10th Annual Doggies on the Catwalk, met Grace Murphy and myself at the Canine Assistants farm. [We] wanted everyone to meet the amazing doggies... these service dogs and future service dogs that are just so wonderful.. but of course, we all got a massive case of puppy fever! Look through the slide show below and you'll see why!

I felt it was important for models to get a tour of Canine Assistants, meet their dogs and learn from Grace about their mission. While Doggies on the Catwalk is a fun time, our cause runs much deeper than fashion and cocktails. Understanding the role of service dogs and how they help, improve and impact lives gave models a better perspective about their own role in respect to Doggies on the Catwalk.
