THE Pocket Square

pocket squares fashionado

Pocket squares are [my] must-have accessory. The 12-15 square inch silk or linen swatch of fabric brings so much style to a man's ensemble. It's often overlooked; forgotten. I'm telling you [guys] hook up your personal style with pocket squares. I wear mine with suits, blazers and even with my tuxedo.

How do you go about choosing the "right" pocket square? The choice is based on your likes and it's completely up to you. I prefer to have a variety of patterns and colors from traditional, solids and edgier designs. This way, the only decision I'm faced with is which pocket square to match up with my look du jour. You can find pocket squares everywhere. Designers make beautiful but very expensive ones. I have a secret place where I buy my pocket squares and I'm going to share it with you...

Century 21... pay them a visit next time you're in NYC! Best selection; best value! Now, go have fun polishing up your style with the perfect pocket square.

Diane Von Furstenberg is looking for a Global Brand Ambassador. Could this be you? The job description includes working closely with the iconic fashion goddess and traveling the world.

Sign ME up!

Oh, but there's one catch... You'll be competing with seven others wanting your job while taping the experience for a "docu-series" for E! You know I'll be tuning in - I love DVF and earlier this year, she was a member of the cast of Ovation's The Fashion Fund about the CFDA/Vogue's coveted Fashion Fund. Ms. Von Furstenberg was a judge on the show. One of my favorite moments was when she was paying a studio visit and cautioned the young designer about using the word "signature" too freely. [As in: 'my' signature coat, 'my' signature jacket... 'MY' signature ego!]  DVF (which is the working title for now) doesn't have a scheduled air date on E! just yet. However, we do know that New York Fashion Week plays a role.

VIKTOR LUNA F/W 2014

"Viktor Luna is pleased to introduce his F/W 2014 collection entitled

Pangaea

. The collection

was inspired by the idea of hunters and exotic animals in a civilization before the world split.

Viktor is always looking to do something different while expressing his personality through his

work."

Viktor Luna

continues to grow, explore and evolve as a designer as evidenced by his latest collection.

Pangaea

, which was a supercontinent 300 million years ago, reveals an edgier, more experimental and daring side of Viktor. While there are hints of glamour, which he loves and handles so well through subtle detailing,

Pangaea

is a definite departure of what we've seen from the designer in the past. This is an exciting collection of very directed ideas, intellect and a specified thought process. Punk elements are characterized and romanced through his use of textiles, ancient culture and an elegant, yes elegant, approach to tribal. I find this collection so refreshing, so appealing - a very modern and complex way to reinterpret the past.

Throughout the creation of the collection, the punk rock band Crass was playing in the

background. Their lyrics and music served as the voice of this collection, hoping to inspire

today’s women in the current chaotic climate, all while moving forward. Viktor wanted to create

an entire world with his clothing: the world that existed before the chaos of modern civilization.

This season, Viktor is revisiting his passion of leather jackets and creating one of a kind looks.

Using intricate details and soft artisanal elements, Viktor looks to show off his mastery in leather

throughout the collection.

Viktor Luna created an idea of what femininity would look like in this barbaric and exotic world. Using

faux fur and leather, he created the animalistic qualities seen in the collection. Combing these

elements with the unique silhouettes help tell the story of an animal and hunter becoming one

harmoniously.

In this land before time collection, Viktor engages the imagination and creates wearable clothing

for the modern woman.

Jeffrey Fashion Cares NEW YORK

chad white jeffrey fashion cares nyc

This is a repost from Fashion Cares founder, Jeffrey Kalinsky's Instagram. I'm honored to serve on the Planning Committee for Jeffrey Fashion Cares Atlanta for a fifth year. I love this event!!! The biggest European and US labels  hit the runway every August to a cheering crowd of celebs and socialites.

Jeffrey Fashion Cares NEW YORK, which unfortunately, I have not had the pleasure of attending (yet) takes place next Tuesday at

The 69th Regiment Armory. It features men. I mean menswear. No, I mean men. Smokin' hot, sexy, speedo-wearing male models. SO, about this playful photo by model Chad White, all I can say (because mom reads my blog) is move that damn sign boy!

Emma Watson covers ELLE

Emma Watson elle

She's smart, sexy and on the April cover of US ELLEEmma Watson makes Western chic by wearing a Balmain shirt and calfskin pants. No magic needed to work the camera here. She looks so fresh in all the photos, I love it. But what I love most about Emma Watson is that she valued the importance of a good education by completing her studies at Brown and Oxford.

This is probably the most amazing and gorgeous photo of the group. Stunning.

The child star has grown up with a pretty good sense of herself, though she tells ELLE about her envy towards new emerging actresses:

“There are all these actresses who have emerged in the last year or two, and they get to emerge as this complete human being. And I’m so jealous!" Emma Watson also talks to ELLE about concerns over her "first kiss" in Hollywood and discusses her role in the new epic film Noah. You can read the entire interview in ELLE, now.
