Melissa Rivers joins cast of Fashion Police

"I'm very excited to be given the opportunity to continue to work with my E! and Fashion Police family," said Melissa Rivers, in a statement.

I'm so happy Melissa is joining the cast of Fashion Police. It makes so much sense. Not only is she the show's Executive Producer, but as Joan's daughter, I don't know of anyone better to keep the legacy alive. Melissa joins Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski in hosting Fashion Police starting late August. Different celebrity guests will join the trio. 

A couple years back I got a smile from Joan Rivers at New York Fashion week. The same day, Melissa, wearing jeans, sneakers and a headset, ran past me inside Lincoln Center. She was so focused and directed. No one is more passionate about Fashion Police than Melissa Rivers. This is a great fit. Let's make it work!

The New FASHION POLICE with Kathy Griffin

Joan Rivers' legacy lives on Monday night when the E! Network premieres the first Fashion Police after the untimely passing of its iconic and beloved host. Kathy Griffin was the obvious choice for the show and while's there's no replacing the late, great Joan Rivers, Kathy, I believe, will do quite well. C'mom, the bitch can work a pair of Loubs and has a sharp tongue - prerequisites for the job, surely. She'll be fine. And in the spirit of change and newness, stylist (and cutie-pie) George Kotsiopoulos has been replaced by flaming stylist & IG #selfie queen Brad Goreski. There hasn't been an official statement about George's departure from the show so I'm not going to speculate. I do know he is a very busy boy... and talented. I have a good feeling we'll be seeing lots of him in 2015!

Oh, but there's one catch... You'll be competing with seven others wanting your job while taping the experience for a "docu-series" for E! You know I'll be tuning in - I love DVF and earlier this year, she was a member of the cast of Ovation's The Fashion Fund about the CFDA/Vogue's coveted Fashion Fund. Ms. Von Furstenberg was a judge on the show. One of my favorite moments was when she was paying a studio visit and cautioned the young designer about using the word "signature" too freely. [As in: 'my' signature coat, 'my' signature jacket... 'MY' signature ego!]  DVF (which is the working title for now) doesn't have a scheduled air date on E! just yet. However, we do know that New York Fashion Week plays a role.
