Summer is hot but you don't have to be. No one loves dressing in layers more than I do but the sweltering southern heat will have you melting faster than MacArthur's Park. Keep it cool this summer. Like this...

A light chambray, short sleeve shirt, with just a hint of Western from H&M, does the trick and shows off the ink. Keeping my wallet cool, the slacks are from H&M too. Try color for a stylish twist. Everyone likes a good POP. The white shoes (with navy stitching) by Cole Haan add a clean, crisp flair to my look. And guys, loafers, while they're always in style, are really on trend this summer. So slip into a pair. NO socks! The bag is Etro and the shades, Dolce & Gabbana.

Guys don't overlook the power of sandals this summer! There are so many styles waiting for you out there, from casual to dressy! Wearing sandals will update your look, keep you on trend without "trying" to hard and may keep you feeling cool! Show them off with shorts and throw on a fitted blazer to dress up your look. Or wear them with a pair of jeans or chinos but don't forget to roll the pants up! And please make sure to get a pedicure! Yes, real men [also] get mani-pedis. Art Gallery Style OOTD

I went to my first art gallery opening as a junior in high school - that was a long time agoooo. I stood next to artist Larry Rivers, not realizing (at the time) his contributions to contemporary art. I did however pay attention to his style. It was a unkempt but deliberate. Some thought went into his look. I was especially drawn to his shoes. They were sneakers, Adidas maybe, not sure because he had spray painted them with a bronze metallic [and it was more than 30 years ago!]... But, they were so fucking cool.... that, I remember. So, what's my point? The take away is this: break the rules, change it up, mix-n-match, push the envelope, think outside the box, anything goes, express yourself, be quirky, be whimsical and most of all, have fun with style when gallery hopping. Or always.
