The Best of Serbia Fashion Week at Art Hearts Fashion NYFW fw/16

Art Hearts Fashion welcomed the best of Serbia Fashion Week to New York Fashion Week. Designers Marina Micanovic, Zvonko Markovic Couture, and Bata Spasojevic showcased wonderful collections with European flair. Marina Micanovic opened the day with the collection "Rhythm of Asymmetric". Recognizable cuts, unusual forms, and an abundance of unique handicraft details are her personal identity in design. The artistic and innovative approach to fashion combines elements of baroque and punk with clean lines.

Designer Zvonko Markovic Couture, a couturier from Belgrade, Serbia presented a stunning collection defined by a true sense of sensuality and a certain femininity. Zvonko recently presented at Paris Couture week and is the only Serbian designer to reach such prestigious accreditation.

Designer Bata Spasojevic closed the show with "HARD ANGEL" a collection for men and women. Inspired by a mix of styles, including punk rock, rock 'n' roll and futurism, the form and construction of the clothes showcases asymmetry and sculpted design.

Through our partnership with Serbia Fashion Week we have connected designers from accross the world to showcase as part of the official fashion week calendar in New York, Los Angeles and Miami.

Serbia Fashion Week is a long-term project that works to create economic development and opportunities for the next generation of Serbian fashion, accessories and textiles designers as Serbia prepares for integration into the European Union. Like the other major fashion weeks in New York City, Paris, London and Milan, the Serbia Fashion Week is organized twice a year with both Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter editions and has grown to become the largest fashion week in Eastern Europe.

Recap: Gregorio Sanchez / Pineda Covalin / Willfredo Gerardo FW/16 Women's Collections

Night one of Art Hearts Fashion NYFW heats things up with a showcase of Latin Designers at the Angel Orensanz Foundation Event Space Manhattan.

The Art Hearts Fashion Latin  showcase opened with designer Gregorio Sanchez. The collection's crisp cuts and lace detailing were juxtaposed with bold patterns and brought to life with cinched waists. Pops of color and belting enlivened the spirited collection. Bold looks by contemporary handbag designer Kristina George accessorized the collection. Designer Pineda Covalin showcased an expressive collection of womenswear and menswear. The diverse designs brought movement to the New York runway. Wraps, vests and printed dresses burst with geometric shapes and bright colors. Willfredo Gerardo closed the evening with a collection of inspired gowns. As the snow and ice glistened outside New York City, Gerardo's gowns glistened with ornate glamour down the runway. A palate of gold, silver, and sparkling white, mesmerized guests throughout the collection. Celebrity model Daphne Joy closed the show and Jason Derulo came out to support.

Tracy Reese Fall 2016

I immediately got a nostalgic feeling upon laying sight on this collection. I later learned that I I was supposed to. Tracy Reese looked to the past for inspiration when designing her Fall 2016 collection which serves as an homage to her hometown of Detroit. This is a beautiful collection that I just can't get enough of. Perhaps it's my love of menswear? Tracy has achieved a harmonious balance between elements of menswear and feminine sensibility. The juxtaposition of herringbone coats, high waisted trousers, pretty lace dresses and vintage-looking furs make this collection a winner this NYFW season. The looks are casual, elegant and chic. And while they posses a nostalgic quality, it doesn't overpower the collection's freshness and modernity.

BEST & WORST GRAMMYs 2016 RED CARPET FASHION

The Grammys is the one award show that delivers a little bit of wild to the red carpet. This year, it brought more glam than anything else. There were more hits than misses (and that's not a bad thing!) Adele ruled the red carpet with her new razor-cut hair, her new-found confidence and in a chic, black sparkly Givenchy. Lady Gaga channeled a couture-like Bowie in Marc Jacobs. Stunning. This is the Gaga that we all love. And then there was Ciara, who reminded us (once again) that she has a bangin' bod and no taste. Cushnie et Ochs Fall 2016

One of the freshest collections this NYFW season came from Cushnie et Ochs. Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs reinterpreted sleek and sexy in a modern way. They reworked and tailored sleeves and created asymmetrical bodice designs in a way that no one else is doing. They took an innovative approach to the slip dress breathing new life into something as staple as the LBD. The fit and flow was exceptional thanks to the always flattering bias cut. There is a head-turning silver lame dress in the collection that you'll want in your wardrobe.

The Fall 2016 Cushnie et Och's girl is a strong and confident woman - as bold as the red lip she wears. The collection presented a variety of short and long dresses and a couple of stunning coats. The skin revealing looks were sultry but tastefully and strategically executed. Cushnie et Ochs were inspired by 1920s film actress Louise Brooks and if Ms. Brooks were alive today she'd be glammed head to toe in Cushnie et Ochs.

Malan Breton Fall 2016

Malan Breton NYFW F/W 2016 collection at NYC's Gotham Hall and appropriately themed "Gotham Disco Dollies" brought all the glam and sophistication that the title suggests.

EDM superstar songstress, Sylvia Tosun, set the stage by performing while the "Dollies" took over the runway in a collection of rich and sumptuous textiles to include angora, lambskin, python and silk. Malan Breton featured an elegant palette of colors like syrah and peacock, but one of my favorites was a pink, like the valerian root flower, that shimmered so brilliantly. Malan showcased it throughout the collection, but when it came out in the form of a fitted suit, I died. That a was a must-have for me. Wow.

Malan Breton gave us a lot of outerwear in this collection as well. One of the standouts was a leather trench coat for men which later appeared (somewhat) like a wrap dress for women.

Malan featured menswear and womenswear combined and he created these looks to complement and work together as a cohesive collection. His womenswear was absolutely chic. Some pieces made me think of a modern day Jerry Hall. The closing gown was cut to perfection and worn to stop traffic. For men, Malan layered looks and played with silhouette by offering varying styles of tailored pants. He also styled a motorcycle jacket that he paired with evening looks, giving them an edgy rock vibe.

It is clear that Malan Breton has a vision and is honing in on it, polishing it, refining it and elevating it. This is a stunning collection - current, relevant and yet inherently personal and defining.
