took us to fashion church for Fall 2014. It probably would have been sacrilegious to genuflect before the designer who recreated a church-like setting, complete with pews, at the Chelsea Gallery. I wonder if he was an alter boy, like me? ...In grand, Thom Browne showmanship, the 'runway' show is really more of an experience - and a feast for the senses! The balance of beauty and horror( as in creepy) gave way to sartorial excellence: signature textiles, exaggerated silhouettes and elaborate detailing. Amen.

PUBLIC SCHOOL Fall 2014

Public Schools may be out in the South because of snow & ice but the fashion storm that is Public School, is very in at New York Fashion Week. The street-style influenced design duo that is Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne have plenty to celebrate. They are the recipients of the coveted Vogue Fashion Fund and just this season they introduced womenswear to their label. A smart move.

The women's line is cut for the female silhouette and that's the major difference between the collections.

Public School's trademark layering and NYC streets aesthetic runs cohesively throughout. Win Win.

Finding Dad: A Personal Story

This is my story. It's not unique. There are many hard-working single mothers in this world and I'm not the first person to grow up without a father.

But it's my story.

[And] This April I am returning to Cuba to reunite with my eighty year old dad after 43 long years of separation.

I made the decision to document this very personal experience and share it with you. While this is a happy story it's extremely emotional at the same time.

This is a story about a single mother, a child growing up without a father and the search for resolution and forgiveness.

and they all take turns reading the play

My kind of WINTER!

The Winter Wren grand opening: Live jazz, with a three-piece band set the soundtrack for the evening as guests sipped on complimentary Cathead Vodka cocktails and wine while enjoying fresh sushi and bites by Genki Noodles and Sushi. In addition to offering a 20% discount throughout the evening, Winter Wren also did special Free People giveaways throughout the evening. And, to help celebrate the opening of its sister store, 310 Rosemont (offering high-end men's and women's apparel located just steps away) treated shoppers and partygoers to Wild Heaven Craft Beers and delicious fare from Ocean Catering Company.
