adidas Originals Launch the Next Chapter of "Stan Smith, Forever" With Disney

Earlier this year, adidas Originals announced a new era for the Stan Smith silhouette, infusing the iconic court sneaker with sustainable materials in order to help End Plastic Waste. Today, adidas Originals has unveiled the next iteration of its more sustainable Stan Smith sneakers.

The collection features exclusive more sustainable takes on the Stan Smith silhouette inspired by a number of Disney, Pixar, Star Wars™, and Marvel's iconic characters including: Marvel's the Hulk, Rex from Disney and Pixar's Toy Story, Yoda from the Star Wars™ galaxy, Tinker Bell from Peter Pan, WALL-E from Disney and Pixar's WALL-E, Kermit the Frog of The Muppets, and Mike Wazowski, from Disney and Pixar's Monsters, Inc.

Each pair in the collection features unique details and references to the characters, such as graphic outsoles, embossed details, bold graphics, playful prints, and additional lace options. All pairs are composed of PRIMEGREEN uppers and sat atop recycled rubber outsoles.

"These series will be officially sold at adidas retail outlets throughout Indonesia as of April 4, 2021. Stan Smith x Disney will also be complemented with the apparel collection that will be one of the anticipated collectible items this year," said Gracia Putri, Brand Communications and Sports Marketing Manager of adidas Indonesia.

adidas Originals also offers up a more sustainable Stan Smith sneaker made-up in the silhouette's classic look. Featuring a white recycled PRIMEGREEN upper and a white recycled rubber outsole, the sneaker is complemented by the Stan Smith's archetypal green heel tab.

To celebrate the launch of the silhouettes, adidas Originals unites some of the brand's most iconic creative forces with a tennis icon, and one of the world's most famous frogs to tackle sustainability. Featuring Stan Smith and Kermit the Frog, skaters Na-Kel Smith and Nora Vasconcellos, digital architect Iddris Sandu, and actress Yara Shahidi, the multi-media campaign serves as adidas Originals' manifesto in the journey to help End Plastic Waste.

The next stage of adidas Originals' sustainable journey, with Disney, launches on March 29th exclusively at adidas.com/stansmith and adidas stores globally, then available from April 4th at a selection of retailers worldwide.

The Summer collection introduces a new informal and emancipated elegance articulated around two types of models. 

First, a folk spirit is given to lightweight classics developed in supple leathers – often unlined – and mounted on thin leather or rubber soles. Desert boots, “espadrille” slippers and slip-ons refer to a drifting Jack Kerouac look or an unlaced derby evoking a Gyspy Rock Jimmy Hendrix type. These shoes reflect a feeling of travel, wandering, from the Mediterranean Sea to Orient. Black, cobalt blue, Havana and black stripes, kaki … these colors take us to solar places.

The sport models refer to a more urban aesthetic. Two new sneakers, the Vibe and the Trail, play on graphic constructions. Pierre Hardy designs extremely striking models in contrasting tones.

FILA Presents the First Women’s Footwear Collection for Spring ‘18

FILA kicks off 2018 with the introduction of the women's Embroidery Pack. A fresh, floral embroidery design element is featured throughout this pack, which includes an Original Fitness and a Drifter slide. The footwear styles are adorned with brightly embroidered blooms in varying shades pink and green, as well as metallic gold accents.

The Original Fitness Embroidery is offered in white, with direct embroidered rose details that extend around the sneaker. This low-top classic features a leather upper with a women's only last, highlighting the feminine toe shape of this silhouette. FILA logo hits appear on the tongue and the outsole in the same pink hue. The sneaker also boasts the brand's signature flag design in white.

Also featured in this pack is the Drifter Embroidery, crafted in white with direct embroidery over the strap. The floral design is emblazoned with a metallic gold FILA logo. The Drifter slide also features an EVA footbed for a more comfortable, cushioned fit.

The Original Fitness Embroidery retails for $75, while the Drifter Embroidery retails for $30. adidas Tennis Collection by Pharrell Williams

adidas Tennis unveiled the US Open 2017 outfits of the leading names in tennis, who will debut the adidas Tennis Collection by Pharrell Williams at Flushing Meadows. Angelique Kerber and Dominic Thiem will lead the inline campaign, showcasing the collection on court. Other players to wear the collection at the US Open include, Simona Halep, Jelena Ostapenko, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Tomáš Berdych.

Inspired by the sport’s ’70s-era superstars - their fearless attitudes and their bold senses of personal style - Pharrell developed a simple brief: remix their most iconic looks into a new tennis collection informed by the latest breakthroughs in adidas technology, such as adidas ClimaCool.

The result is adidas Tennis Collection by Pharrell Williams, a range of clothing, accessories, and footwear that brings a cool, colorful, and sophisticated spirit to the world of tennis apparel. The collection explores two distinct motifs - primary colour-block and off-white pin stripe. These elements are paired with fully-fashioned, engineered knitwear that boasts surprising details. The inline collection is in addition to the statement collection by adidas Originals, which will be worn on court by Garbine Muguruza and Sascha Zverev.

Defending champion Angelique Kerber will wear the inline New York Color Blocked Dress, which features a warp knit mesh body fabric with color blocked panels at the side. The 3-in-1 dress comes with Climacool to battle the heat and quick drying fabrics to keep cool and dry. Simona Halep, finalist at Roland Garros, will wear the New York tank featuring a flat knit ribbed collar design with with multi color stripes and four button placket. Alongside the New York skort that has a pleated design, matching the overall vintage tennis aesthetic.

First and second are the new sock-like fit and collar construction design which delivers a seamless fit and allows the foot to move in harmony with the upper, as one single unit. FILA Partners With Shoe City for the Second Edition of the “Puzzle Piece”

Last year, FILA and Shoe City partnered together for the first edition of the “Puzzle Piece.” The style selected for the collaboration shoe was The Cage, a retro streetball silhouette. The pair was draped with a lush “Light It Up Blue” tonal suede upper and a multi-colored puzzle piece lining, along with an embroidered puzzle piece logo on the tongue. A portion of every purchase was donated to Autism Speaks to help raise awareness, fund research and change the future for those who struggle with autism spectrum disorders. According to the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), one in every 88 children are diagnosed with Autism in the United States. 

Almost one year to date, FILA and Shoe City return for the second edition in the “Puzzle Piece” series. In 2017, the FILA F-13 silhouette is selected. Dressed in a mostly white tumbled leather upper, the classic F-13 features the FILA-flag in the “Light It Up Blue” color, as well as suede overlays along the eye-row, and strap.  Much like the first edition of the series, the sock liner, back tongue and footbed are dressed in a multi-colored puzzle piece print to tie back to the Autism Awareness official symbol and messaging. Additionally, that same print is displayed on the shoe laces.

The collaboration shoe drops this Thursday, April 20th, on YCMC.com and in select Shoe City doors. For every purchase made, Shoe City will donate $10 to Autism Speaks.
