The Golden Globes BEST & WORST Dressed 2014

lupita nyongo

Lupita Nyong'o in Ralph Lauren WOW, WOW and more WOW...

Lupita Nyong'o made her American film debut with 12 Years a Slave and owned the red carpet in this chic Ralph Lauren caped dress. MY favorite of the evening!

I'm very pleased overall at the red carpet fashion. There were very few misses. And some who always make my worst dressed turned things around and joined the winner's circle. Let's see...

Margot Robbie in Gucci

Elisabeth Moss in J. Mendel

Twitter critics gave Elisabeth Moss mixed reviews on her look. I like the dress. The detailing is absolutely amazing and I think she looks lovely.

Zosia Mamet in Reem Acra

Girls' star Zosia Mamet has had her red carpet challenges but not last night. I especially love the nude lip.

Kelly Osbourne in Escada

Representing

Fashion Police

, Kelly Osbourne looked exquisite in slicked-back hair and a high-slit Escada dress. Stunning. One of my faves...

Lena Dunham in Zac Posen

The biggest fashion shocker of the night for me came from Lena Dunham with a gorgeous Zac Posen on her back and a brilliant Harry Winston around her neck. She even got the pose and pouty lips right. I can't believe it, but this 'Girls' one of my faves!

Naomi Watts in Tom Ford

Hayden Panettiere in Tom Ford

I'm not loving this one. I

KNOW

it's Tom Ford, but the dress looks cheap.

Amy Adams in Valentino

Not every woman can pull off a halter and plunging neckline with the class and sophistication that Amy Adams is delivering.

golden-globes-red-carpet-fashion-fashionado
golden-globes-red-carpet-fashion-fashionado

Gabourey Sidibe in Michael Costello

Perfection. The dress, the fit and the styling are all on point. This American Horror Story witch is working her Red Carpet magic!

Taylor Swift in Carolina Herrera

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture

This dress had it's share of haters too BUT Jennifer Lawrence has the height, body and sassy hair to make it youthful and make it work. Beside, she can kick your ass.

paula-patton-golden-globes-red-carpet-fashion-fashionado

Paula Patton in Stephanie Rolland

This dress didn't bother me like it did so many. From the side, it's amazing. Though I'd like to see a slit running up, almost to the knee. Unfortunately, the dramatic, Godzilla-size ruffle swallows her from the front view.

Julia Roberts in Dolce & Gabbana

Well... lets see. From the neck up, Julia Roberts is so beautiful. That's where it the beauty ends and the disaster begins. I wonder if Valentino is laughing? Remember how flawless she was in 2001?

golden-globes-red-carpet-fashion-fashionado
golden-globes-red-carpet-fashion-fashionado

Mila Kunis in Emilio Pucci

I don't think she's happy in this dress. I'm not happy seeing Mila in this dress that feels too mature for her.

golden-globes-red-carpet-fashion-fashionado
golden-globes-red-carpet-fashion-fashionado

Sandra Bullock in Prabal Gurung

I'm not sure this is the right dress for Sandy but I just love her. AND it's not an awful dress, just a lot of it.

golden-globes-red-carpet-fashion-fashionado

Sofia  Vergara in Zac Posen

And speaking of a lot of dress... BUT I am so happy that Sofia stepped out of those form-fitted mermaid dresses and tried something different. I think she looks great.

Zoe Saldana in Prabal Gurung

The dress loses me at the waist... what happened to the rest of it?

AND THEN THERE WERE THE MEN

Pitti Street Style 2014

pitti-uomo-fashionado
pitti-uomo-fashionado

Why couldn't we live Pitti Uomo everyday? A great number of the most stylish and dapper men in the world show off their sartorial flair at the famous Florentine trade show known as Pitti Uomo. Acclaimed photographer Tommy Ton captured the best of the best of Pitti street style for GQ Magazine... see photos below

*What I love most about this style is that it's about how you put your look together. The ties, scarves, vests, outerwear and shoes areall in your closet.

The keys to pulling off Pitti style: 1. clothing must be fitted; 2. You MUST already posses a sense of style. 3. Attitude. (Age is not a factor, love that.)

*What I like least are the hideous unkempt beards. I hated them before they were a trend. I despise them now. When paired with camouflage you look like a gay Duck Dynasty fool.

Project Runway has a WINNER!

project-runway-all-star-winner-seth-aaron-fashionado
project-runway-all-star-winner-seth-aaron-fashionado

I stopped watching Project Runway All Stars about three shows into the season because I found it boring. The series lacks the allure and appeal that [regular] 'Runway' possesses. The group of talented fashion designers are just reality show leftovers given a second chance to amuse us.  Though technically, Seth Aaron was no runner up but the Season 7 winner. With that said, I am so glad I tuned into the All Stars finale last night. [Mainly because Glee wasn't on!] Korto and Elena didn't stand a chance against the clean lines and modernity of Seth Aaron's collection. He earned his win with a strong, cohesive line of architecturally beautiful clothing. He's edgy and confident. Seems super cool... I loved it. View collection:

Miley & Marc in 2014

miley cyrus marc jacobs

Oh Miley, why so blue?

Is it because famed photographer Juergen Teller declined the job? Nah... she's just brooding for fashion. The singer is the new face of Marc Jacobs. From Disney sensation to twerking vixen and now with a major modeling campaign... no one can deny that Miley Cyrus has come in like wrecking ball...

From Hot to Cold: Colorful Winter Accessories

As the weather gets cooler, closets go darker. In the past, broody hues have been winter appropriate, but lately we’ve seen a surge of bold, bright colors including red, cobalt and metallics.

Lucky for us, with these colors in style, it’s easy to do a closet update that will take your accessories through the seasons with ease.

Shoes

Photo of Metallic Pump from Target

Shoes are such an

easy

way to take a baby step toward lightening up this winter.

Metallics are a form of neutral in that they go with any outfit, but still bring attention down to your toes.

Pointy toe metallic pumps like the ones offered by Sam and Libby will take you from office lunch to holiday party without a trip back home. Both the heel and flat options offer a stylish punch, so choose whichever style makes you feel more comfortable. Metallics, bolds and neons are all fair game, and you can find tons of affordable womens shoes online that fit the bill.

Handbags

Like shoes, handbags are another easy way to add a pop of color without going over the top. When choosing a colored bag, remember to pick something that will coordinate with other pieces in your wardrobe. If you wear a lot of red, a Kelly green bag probably isn’t the best choice post-holiday season.

However, red coordinates great with many yellows and gem tones like purple.

Taking a mental inventory of your closet before going shopping will help immensely in choosing the right bag.

Nine West offers totes, satchels and wristlets in all colors mentioned above at reasonable prices.

Scarves

It’s amazing how much a scarf can change a look. Even if you’re wearing a dark, monotone outfit, throw on a scarf and you'll look put together, festive and fun. Don’t be afraid of bright colors and out-there prints. Because a scarf is smaller and less bold than a pair of pants, try to push yourself for a something out of your comfort zone, like an intricately designed aztec print. For special occasions, match up your scarf with your metallic shoes. Pashminas and even ponchos have come back this winter and are a great way to add a pop to your outfit or dress up a pair of leggings while keeping warm.

Jewelry

Jewelry is another great way to make a statement and can be super affordable. Add color to your wardrobe or refresh an outfit you’ve been wearing all fall with a statement gold bangle or jeweled necklace. Mantra and idiom pieces are especially popular, like this Kate Spade 'find the silver lining' bangle. Another great trend that’s in for winter is large earrings. Colorful and sparkly, a pair can make a plain back dress party ready in a snap. Aldo has a ton of trendy jewelry that is budget-friendly.

Hats

Hats are making a big

comeback

this winter and are also a great accessory to have on hand for cold temps and not-so-great hair days. Women’s baggy crocheted beanies are everywhere and make running errands and weekend get togethers super stylish.
