Raf Simons continues to embed his mark, vision and aesthetic on the House of Dior. Like other notable creative director's heading legendary labels, Simons is successfully balancing between new and tradition. I haven't seen a retro vibe present itself with so much freshness in a long time. This collection has so many stand out pieces in a broad range of silhouettes. Some of my faves: the psychedelic catsuits, the ribbons dress and most of the coats in the brightest colors.

I've had a fascination with Viktor & Rolf for many years. I have often said they are artists working in the medium of fashion. Their designs are like moving, breathing sculpture on the runway and Spring's Couture collection is no exception. From the looks of it, Uncle Karl wasn't the only designer playing in the garden this season. Viktor & Rolf's blooms blossomed into colorful, voluminous silhouettes. Babydoll dresses with beautiful graphic floral prints, straw hats and flip flops...

Marie, Marie quite contraire, how does your jardin grow? Uncle Karl flexed his green thumb and gave everyone a glorious garden of couture for Chanel Spring 2015. The blooms, by the way, were mechanical! Season after season after season, the genius that is Karl Lagerfeld continues to evolve the legendary house from the past and into modernity. Classic tweeds embrace unconventional elements to create a "new" Chanel for today's times. He looks to the future by respecting the past and producing RTW and Couture collections that are inherently Chanel but are as young and fresh as a spring bouquet.

Atelier Versace Spring 2015 Couture

While I can't imagine any socialites wearing the very revealing Versace gowns featured on the runway, I do suspect they'll all be talking about it. Donatella Versace gave us skin. And lots of it. It wasn't vulgar but actually quite mesmerizing. It was all about the showing off and embracing of the curves of a woman she told Style.com. In fact, there wasn't a single straight line in the collection. The color scheme was limited to bold reds, blues, black and white but the range of looks went across the board. Jumpsuits, minidresses, and of course, the eye-popping gowns. Donatella also gave us something new for Versace, volume. She sent out these terrifically voluminous dresses with pockets - a new silhouette for Versace.

EVENT RECAP | SECOND ANNUAL CALLANWOLDE ARTS FESTIVAL & V.I.P. PREVIEW PARTY

On Saturday, January 24 and Sunday, January 25, 2015, The Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces (AFFPS) celebrated their second annual Callanwolde Arts Festival at one of Atlanta’s most distinctive historic properties, the 27,000-square foot Callanwolde Mansion in Druid Hills. The award-winning, two-day indoor festival featured approximately 86 painters, photographers, sculptors, metalwork, glass artists, jewelers, and more. Open to all ages, the festival also offered artist demonstrations, live acoustic music, food trucks with healthy alternatives, and dance performances. 

Art lovers were also invited to take advantage of the ticketed V.I.P. Preview Sales Party on Friday, January 23 from 6 to 9 p.m.  Upon arrival, guests were greeted with a glass of wine to sip on as they strolled throughout the historic home and were the first to view and shop the artwork showcased at this year’s festival.  Ocean Catering Company provided hors d’oeuvres for guests to nosh on while they mixed and mingled with the artists and enjoyed live acoustic music. Proceeds from ticket sales at the event and V.I.P. party benefited the Cancer Financial Assistance Coalition (CFAC). For more information about the festival please visit www.callanwolde.org.

Valentino Fall 2015 Menswear

Valentino design duo Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri were inspired by the geometric paintings of Australian artist Esther Stewart. The designers defined geometry as a "new form of decoration." The result? No less than perfection. Precisely tailored coats, shirts and trousers featuring bold diamond and triangular shapes in a range of greys and brightly-muted color. The decorative features also embraced embroidered elements like flowers and moths strategically placed on the shoulders and backs of garments. The coats with the tiny, repetitive patterns towards the end of the collection, with a mosaic quality, are absolutely to-die-for!
