KENZO is happy to announce the next phase in its development for KENZO – La Collection Memento.

kenzo La Collection Memento men

As of February 2019, KENZO will switch to a ‘see-now, buy-now’ format for its collection focused on reinventing KENZO’s rich archives for today. Instead of presenting a collection as part of this upcoming Paris fashion week, KENZO will remain part of the fashion calendar by celebrating the launch of its new film during New York Fashion Week on 7th September.

“We are super excited to work on this project for next year. The response over the past two years to La Collection Memento from press and customers alike has been amazing. Logistically it’s easier for us to present our main collections for KENZO in January and June, and this will remain the case, but giving customers the option to buy La Collection Memento as soon as it hits the runway is something we’re thrilled to pursue.” Carol Lim & Humberto Leon

The next KENZO show will take place in January 2019 when the house will present its men’s and women’s collections for Fall/Winter 2019/20.

KENZO – La Collection Memento was introduced in March 2017 and focuses on re-examining the archives of the near 50-year-old French founded Maison. It is presented twice yearly in February and September as part of Paris fashion week.

Jeffrey Kalinsky’s Fall Trend Forecast:

If there is one bold font message from the Fall 2018 shows, it’s that fashion is forever changing. In a world where bothmenswear and womenswear are being presented together, brands are evolving from the notion of seasonal collections.

If we had to choose one word to describe the season, it is #EMPOWERMENT. The expression of femininity came in many differentshapes and sizes. From sharp shoulder outerwear, to an array of shine and iridescent colors, Fall 18 was anything but safe.

Other notable trends we noticed on the runways:

Sparkle:  Traditional sequins just don’t cut it! Your favorite knits, dresses, and coats have been transformed into exploded novelty items. The whirl of paillettes storming down the runway was hard to miss and the most shimmering jumpsuits were sent down the cat walk.

Oversize:  Enormous fashion, anyone? Don’t be afraid to layer up with 2-in-1 pieces or oversized strong shoulder outerwear reminiscent of the 80’s. Designers are delivering exciting collaborations with this trend.

Sports:  Go team go! Many designers took to the sports culture, each creating their own athletic inspired merchandise.

Neon:  Not afraid of color! Fall 2018 brings you iridescent dresses that can be seen from a mile away.  On the runway, there were eye-popping neons (pink, green, and orange) in every type of fabric imaginable, including florescent infused knits.

Plaid:  Plaid looked richer than ever this season. We saw perfect tailoring to strong outerwear, all featuring plaid or plaid prints.

Five Fashion Items Every Man Should Own

Men’s fashion is usually simpler than women’s but this doesn’t mean that you can simply wear the same clothes over and over. If you are a man who would like to express himself through their style, you will need to make sure that you can change your looks using smart accessories and invest into some basic things that you can combine to create a new look every time. Below you will find a list of five items every man should have in their wardrobe.

Man Bag

No matter if you are engaged in networking or meeting clients regularly, you will need a stylish leather man bag for your accessories, paperwork, and other items you might need.

From laptop sized bags to small casual shoulder bags for meeting with friends, you will need to create a collection, or you will have to ruin your looks by stuffing your pockets with your paperwork and your wallet, not to mention the risk of losing them if you don’t have zips.

Leather Boots

No matter if you are a jeans person or love wearing smart clothes, you will need a pair of leather boots that will match your style. Natural brown will go with almost every color and can even be worn with casual suits. Leather boots can help you create the right appearance without looking like you have made too much effort getting ready in the morning.

Stylish Scarves

Accessories have been neglected in menswear for a while, but they are having a comeback. Instead of keeping it simple, you can spruce up your looks by adding a few elegant or funky scarves. You will be able to add color effortlessly and create a designer look for less. Make sure that you don’t only get winter scarves for your coats and jackets, but also decorative ones you can wear with suits during the summer.

Collection of Ties

Every man needs to build a smart collection of ties. There is something special about choosing the right one for the day ahead and your current outfit. Make sure that you check out the latest John Henric ties for men and match the colors and shades with your existing wardrobe, so you can make a statement even when you need to look businesslike.

3-Piece Suit

No matter if you work in the corporate world or run your own business, the first impressions matter more than you would think.

If you would like to make a statement and look sharp at a meeting with a client, you will need a smart three-piece suit  that will help you create a sophisticated, professional style and look stunning on corporate photos, too.

Choose the right accessories and get a couple of color combinations that express your personality.

If you want to dress for the occasion every time without spending too much on your wardrobe, it is important that you shop in a smart way. Improve your looks by finding the right combination of basic outfits and accessories.

SNEAK PEEK: JEFFREY FASHION CARES 2018 RUNWAY

My eyes were blinded by the shimmer and sparkle of head-to-toe sequins shining bright in all their brilliance as the model walked the walk for Jeffrey Kalinsky. I entered into the fittings as a runway look by designer [Michael] Halpern was being styled for the show. Jeffrey and JFC Co-chair Lila Hertz were focused, possibly mesmerized, by the model who wore a green, blue and purple sequin jumpsuit with matching knee-high sequin boot - a Halpern/Louboutin collab. The glamazons continued to march out of the Jeffrey Atlanta dressing room in showstoppers by Balenciaga, Givenchy, Dries Van Noten and Saint Laurent. If this preview was any indication of what's to come Monday, August 27 to the Jeffrey Fashion Cares runway, then hold on because JFC is planning to blow you away with a fashion tornado of the latest and hottest Fall looks of the season!

The  26th anniversary of Jeffrey Fashion Cares will benefit Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta, the Atlanta AIDS Fund (AAF), and the Medical University of South Carolina.  Last year’s sold-out event raised nearly $860,000 for the organizations, and in its history, Fashion Cares has grown into one of the largest combined AIDS and breast cancer benefits in the country.  For the 2018 philanthropic affair, guests are invited to mix, mingle and enjoy an unforgettably stylish evening in a completely transformed and private environment in the Monarch Court at the recently renovated Phipps Plaza.

Carlos Campos SS19 Menswear

carlos campos ss19

For Carlos Campos’s SS19 show for New York Fashion Week: Men’s, the designer returned to the DNA of his brand. The collection featured expert hand tailoring, architectural silhouettes, and bold colors. Though the collection had a classic Carlos Campos feel, it was fun and fresh, rather than a rehash of something that had already been done. As key makeup artist, Dana Arcidy of Metro Look created a look with the same vibe—in line with past seasons, but updated and remixed.

Arcidy explained that the focus of makeup at a Carlos Campos show is always on great skin. A lot of the models came directly from other shows, so Arcidy and her team started with removing models’ makeup as necessary. The team partnered up with A’PIEU, a Korean line known for its mild ingredients. They used All Clean Lip & Eye Remover, which gently removed all traces of makeup while soothing the models’ skin with calendula extract. Next, they applied antioxidant-rich Waterful Bamboo Soothing Gel.

The team then buffed in foundation using brushes from Artis. The brushes are distinctively different in appearance from other makeup brushes, with some looking like gorgeously designed space-age toothbrushes. As Arcidy explained, the densely packed fibers taper to a microscopic level for superior blending. “It’s like airbrushing without the airbrush,” she said. The brushes enabled her team to achieve greater coverage out of a smaller amount of product, which also meant natural looking skin, a “must” on male models.

Next, the artists moved on to eyes. Brows were filled in, and then, in a change from her previous seasons with the designer, Arcidy instructed her artists to apply mascara to their male models’ lashes. “We’re putting on a bit more makeup this season and doing something a little prettier, because we want to call attention to the eyes,” she said. They finished with lip balm that left a soft sheen on the lips.

While up-close the makeup may have been noticeable, as the models walked the runway, the effect was subtle. It was a small update to the ever-evolving Carlos Campos man.
