Maison Margiela Men's Pop-up at Neiman Marcus Atlanta

Everyone loves a good Pop-up and this one is a great one right here in Atlanta. A selection of Maison Margiela Men’s RTW and accessories, along with the newest sneaker collaboration from Margiela x Reebok, will be available for purchase at the brand’s pop-up at Neiman Marcus Atlanta from February 26 – March 18. You don’t want to miss this and what’s even sweeter is that you can step into the weekend with these kicks… read on!

On February 26, 2021 Maison Margiela and Reebok release the Classic Leather Tabi in white and black as part of their ongoing collaboration. Drawing on codes evolved by creative director John Galliano, the sneaker expresses the characteristics of the French fashion house through one of the sportswear brand’s most recognizable designs.

The new style of the collaboration – which debuted in early 2020 ¬– represents the most distilled take on the codes of Maison Margiela and Reebok to date. Unifying innovation with heritage, fashion meets functionality in a contemporary design with a timeless appeal.

The Classic Leather Tabi splices two icons into one. Maison Margiela created the Tabi in 1988. With its recognizable split-toe construction – and the signature footprint it creates – it represents the deconstructive design philosophy key to the house.

A formidable running shoe, the Classic Leather from 1983 has become a staple in the casual wardrobe and remains one of Reebok’s most respected and recognizable shoes. For the collaboration, the Classic Leather was entirely rebuilt to accommodate the Tabi split-toe. The style is created in nappa leather with an EVA sole. It is made available in white & black.

A tabi toe sock is offered to complement both shoes. Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi sneakers will be available from February 26th in select Maison Margiela stores and on maisonmargiela.com and reebok.com.

GLOBAL RUNWAY ATL TOOK FLIGHT AND SOARED TO EPIC HEIGHTS

Who would of imagined that one of the most adventurous and avant garde venues and events would be and would occur at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport? Well, that was exactly the scene on May 18th as the inaugural Global Runway took flight, along with more than 250 attendees, and soared high above every event in the city. Global Runway was chic, upscale and boasted a NYFW vibe.

So what exactly is Global Runway? Global Runway is a fashion presentation highlighting a selection of the global offerings available from ATL Skypointe, the award-winning concessions program from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Guests experienced an industry-quality fashion presentation featuring the latest Spring/Summer 2017 collections from Tommy Hilfiger, Swarovski, Sean John and local emerging lifestyle brand Ateaelle. The event also bridged the gap between beauty and style by hosting a pop-up shop featuring national brands ExOfficio, Bijoux Terner, Luxe International and Mori Luggage.

The Global Runway campaign also featured six influential style ambassadors who brought to life the newest style offerings at ATL. The 2017 style ambassadors included Jenna Wessinger (www.justatouchtoomuch.com), E. Vincent Martinez (www.fashionado.net), Satchel Jester (www.scenebysatchel.com), Emily Loftiss (www.EmilyLoftiss.com) and sisters Laticia and D’ANA Rolle (www.BluHzl.com).

In addition to the fashion presentation and pop-up shop, ATL unveiled the campaign’s official commercial featuring style ambassadors E. Vincent Martinez, Satchel Jester and Jenna Wessinger. Shooting this commercial was truly an amazing event in itself. With a talented director, top-notch production team and a vision, an experience was captured and a tale of luxury and lifestyle was told.

Basic Rights Clothing Debuts New York City Pop Up

BASIC RIGHTS DEBUTS NEW YORK CITY POP UP + DROPS NEW CAMPAIGN IMAGERY
ONE WEEK OF EVERY BASIC FOR YOU / YOUR MAN

BASIC RIGHTS is a menswear label made up of well designed, well fit, and practically priced, wardrobe essentials. The brand launched in February of 2016 with a collection of elevated classics which featured absolutely zero branding on the clothing, an intentional move by the brand’s founder Freddie Cowan, known best for his role as lead guitarist in the band The Vaccines. Cowan, who had set out to create a wardrobe of beautifully designed, but reasonably priced, essential items that were easily integrated into every man’s wardrobe, found a key partner in Savile Row tailor David Chambers, who collaborated with Cowan on the rollout of his debut collection of essential menswear items. On November 1st, 2016, Cowan will debut the ecommerce focused label at the brand’s first brick + mortar popup shop, slated to open doors in Manhattan’s Lower East Side with their range of menswear essentials that marry high quality construction, fabric, and fit at practical price- points ($45 for a T-shirt to $200 for a jacket). Basic Rights limits their product offering to pieces that Cowan feels could, and should, be the foundation for a modern man's wardrobe. Check it out from November 1 – November 6 at 2 Rivington Street in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

In conjunction with opening shop in the LES, Cowan simultaneously releases the new campaign imagery for Basic Rights. A preview of the new Basic Rights Winter 2016 imagery, included below, features a lineup of Cowan's closest musically talented friends, including the likes of Matt Hitt, Albert Hammond Jr., Winston Marshall, and Alan Pownall, all shot by Christiaan Felber.

Givenchy, Haider Ackerman, Thom Browne: JEFFREY MEN

jeffrey men pop up

A couple days ago I "popped" over to the Jeffrey Atlanta Men's Pop Up Shop and walked away with everything... well, in my dreams! Jeffrey, Don Purcell and team did an excellent job of curating a menswear collection that is fitting to the stylish, fashion-forward Atlanta man. There is something for every guy, taste and budget - from Acne Studio sweaters to Givenchy wool coat with leather sleeves. The pop up shop ends on  Sunday, Oct. 11 but I strongly suggest you get there sooner or there may be nothing left. (Not that I was eavesdropping) but I may have "overheard" conversation about something big tomorrow night, Wednesday. Celebrities?? Maybe... may be worth popping over then!

If Jeffrey does well with menswear in Atlanta, and from the looks of it, he is, carrying mens labels may become a regular thing. BTW, you need to check out the Saint Laurent motorcycle jacket! It's difficult to choose a favorite Pop Up piece, but that jacket (look for it in the photos below) is badass!
