3 Celebrity Must-Have Baby Products

baby

With the world at their disposal, celebrities can have all the baby gear they desire. You’ll see them gravitating toward luxury, eco-friendly and practical products. And there are some items they simply can’t live without and will go to great lengths to promote. Check out three of the most photographed baby items that celebrities — and their kids — love.

Celebrity Favorite: Swaddles by SwaddleDesigns

Who loves it: Shiloh Jolie Pitt, Apple Paltrow, Violet Affleck, Homer Heche, Avery McGraw, John Moynahan, Stella Spelling, Rain Burke, Dakota Palin

Why they love it: Swaddling blankets, aka swaddles, keep some of the hottest celebrity babies wrapped up all warm and cozy. But these swaddles aren’t just any old blanket; they are specially designed with softness like no other. The high-quality luxury blankets have various uses and features that make them so popular with the rich and famous, but they don’t have a celebrity price tag. Swaddling directions are sewn right into the tag, and there is a scannable QR code that offers access to SwaddleDesigns Swaddle Club. Other key features include:

  • Quality
  • Style
  • Affordability
  • Longevity
  • Educational value
  • Made in the U.S.A.
  • Eco-friendly

Where to get it online: SwaddleDesigns.com

Note: Shiloh is often photographed carrying the ever present Bright Pink Polka Dot Babie Lovie. She can’t seem to leave it behind (she has a blue one, too).

Where to get it in stores: Target

Eco-Friendly Body and Hair Wash

Celebrity Favorite: California Baby Shampoo and Body Wash

Who loves it: Honor and Haven (Alba) Warren, Jack Moynahan, Max Aguilera, Ava Jackman, Ryder (Hudson) Robinson, Tuesday (Mortimer) Gaghan

Why they love it: California Baby products have natural and organic ingredients. They promote better skin, combat allergies and are good for the planet. The manufacturing process is sustainable and California Baby is a WBENC-Certified Women’s Business Enterprise. The Shampoo and Body Wash can be used by babies six months and older. It promotes a sense of well-being with the eucalyptus and Douglas fir scent. The sulfate-free wash is formulated for sensitive skin and has no gluten, soy, oat, dairy or synthetic fragrances. Like Swaddle Designs, California Baby is made in the U.S.A. But that’s not the only product from this company that has celebrities talking. The California Baby Sunscreen has been photographed with Katie Holmes and California Baby Calming Bubbles is used by Halle Berry.

Where to get it online: Californiababy.com

Where to get it in stores: Whole Foods, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Auntie Barbara’s Kids in Beverly Hills

Baby Carrier

Celebrity Favorite: Belle Baby Carriers

Who loves it: Julia Roberts (Henry), Jessica Alba (Honor), Angelina Jolie (Shiloh), Nicole Kidman (Sunday Rose)

Why they love it: Keeps Mom’s hands free to multitask while baby sits comfortable and close to her heart (Dad can wear it too). The carrier allows for baby to face toward or away from the chest and can carry 8-35 lbs. When baby is facing outward, the ergonomic posture supports healthy hip and spine development. Because there is no extra fabric, padding or complex adjustments, it’s easy to wear in any kind of weather because it can easily be zipped under a coat. Organic versions are available and favored by celebrities. Co-designed by two outdoor enthusiast dads from Colorado, the Belle Baby Carrier takes pressure off the back with its cross-over nylon straps and waist belt.

The Creative Philanthropy of International Giving

International Giving

When Modern Luxury's Group Publisher [and two-time Doggies on the Catwalk model] D'anne Cagle Heckert introduced me to Sandra Verbon, founder of International Giving (IG), I thought "Wow, what an amazing concept. Wish I'd thought of it!" D'anne who is so supportive of Doggies on the Catwalk was helping me find alternate and creative ways to fundraise for my event and to support our beneficiary, the Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption.

So what is International Giving, besides brilliant? It's a very easy way for everyone to contribute to worthy causes, effortlessly. You see, all you need to do is bring your foreign currency, you know, the bills and coin we bring back from traveling abroad and that most of us have stockpiled in a dresser drawer or desk, to Doggies on the Catwalk and International Giving will be there to collect it. Sandra will be waiting for you with a smile at the IG kiosk near the registration table, just look for the IG signage and drop off your foreign currency.

What happens next? International Giving will convert all the currency to USD and donate it to the Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption! Done. Easy. Fabulous!!!

I am personally so excited to have partnered with Sandra and her amazing non-profit. Doggies on the Catwalk is on June 13th at 7PM at Buckhead Atlanta 3035 Peachtree Rd. 30305. Tickets are $50 - click below!

The Southern THEORYist

Almost every retailer at Buckhead Atlanta has had some form of Grand Opening celebration in the past year but last night Theory shut it down! The atmosphere at Theory was casual, chic and festive. Guests were sipping, shopping and smiling. And while the brand embraces a minimalist aesthetic, their values in respect to design and customer service is abundantly strong.

Theory took their Grand Opening festivities to new heights by doing something that no other retailer has even come close to doing - understanding, respecting, acknowledging and celebrating the power of the blogger. Thank you Theory - YOU get it!

Last night, after their Grand Opening, Theory hosted an amazing, family-style dinner at The Southern Gentleman for Atlanta's top fashion bloggers. The menu consisted of Little Gem Salad, Pimento Cheese Puffs, Flounder, Roasted Whole Chicken and Lemon Cornmeal Cake. Very delicious! The only thing more spectacular than the impressive spread was the company. Theory Buckhead GM, Kelly Miller delivered a warm welcome to the group, thanking everyone for all they do.

The evening was absolutely perfect. Thank you Theory & The Southern Gentleman.

If you haven't been to Theory Buckhead, pay them a visit. They have the best Spring/Summer whites in Atlanta. From linens to light weight fabrics, the selection for women and men is fabulous.

Tod’s Grand Opening in Buckhead Atlanta | Event Recap

Photos by Brian Reeves/BenRosePhotography.com

Last Thursday, the who’s who of Atlanta flocked to Tod’s for the grand opening celebration of its newest boutique that just opened in Buckhead Atlanta. The private soiree benefiting Meals on Wheels Atlanta and a Meal to Remember 2015 was hosted by Michelle Crosland, Joanne Chesler Gross and Coy Wire. Guests enjoyed signature cocktails, prosecco, and savory and sweet bites from Dennis Dean Catering as they took live demonstrations by an artisan flown in from Italy handcrafting the iconic Tod's Gommino throughout the event. Additionally, guests were treated to fresh floral bouquets and authentic Italian gelato as they mix and mingled and explored the Tod’s women and menswear collections that includes bags, shoes, small leather goods and accessories. 10% of the evening’s sales will be donated to Meals on Wheels and a Meal to Remember 2015.

The Buckhead Atlanta location is Tod’s 9th nationwide boutique. The store reflects the utmost in quintessential Italian elegance. The décor, which is sophisticated, creates an environment of contemporary character which still maintains the solid elements of classic traditional Italian design. This serves as a great reminder of the constant evolution of the company which is continually linked to research and technological progress without ever losing sight of their values, tradition and craftsmanship.

The space is enriched with sumptuous leather sofas, consoles and selected furniture accented with steel details. Additional pieces crafted from steel and marble create a play of light and reflection to highlight the Tod’s Men’s and Women’s Collections. The warm and refined décor perfectly reflects the tones of Italian tradition. President and CEO, Diego Della Valle says: “The idea was to make our clients feel at home. A house built in a classic Italian style with thousands of fine details is always rare to find.”

A special limited edition Swarovski crystal Cape bag was made to commemorate the occasion.  The Cape bag is latest bag to be designed by Creative Director, Alessandra Facchinetti for the Spring 2015 collection. The bag worn by celebrities like Leigh Lezark is available in Atlanta in multi colored calfskin leather and topped with Swarovski crystal embroidery.

Tod’s Boutique in Buckhead Atlanta is located at 3035 Peachtree Road NE, space A170, Atlanta, Georgia 30305. Visit www.tods.com for more information.

"The First Ever 2nd Annual Toecane Peeps Show"

Some Peeps took us to the disco while other peeps followed the "yellow brick road" and an adventurous, marshmallowey crew ventured to outer space - the new frontier- however, many other Peeps, well, they were just eaten. Judson Guerard Hot Glass Studio in North Carolina hosted "The First Ever 2nd Annual Toecane Peeps Show." The annual, deliciously sweet art show is the brainchild of glassblowers Judson and Sally Guerard and brought forth some of the most creative and clever artists from the area to create mini-installations featuring the iconic holiday treats. I was honored to judge the competition and perhaps a little sick - too many Peeps in my tummy! What happens when you take a group of talented, smart and socially aware artists and invite them to create art with something as ridiculous as marshmallow peeps? - A super amazing event! Enjoy the photos in the slideshow and perhaps next year you'll want to enter!
