Bottega Veneta Menswear Fall 2016

Cashmere, leather, velvet and zippers make this Bottega Veneta collection. Well, at the luxurious surface that is. Bottega Veneta director Tomas Maier made a purposeful effort to stay away and "move forward" from jogger pants and other athletic-turned fashion elements. Maier told Style.com that he felt that had become a trend and he wanted to do something else. The Bottega Veneta menswear collection for Fall 2016 is rich and elegant. Dark colors complemented with bold leathers in blue, green and red. It's a modern sartorialism for the fashion forward man.

Brunello Cucinelli Menswear Fall 2016

“A well-tailored jacket is style-defining and can change your attitude in a minute” - Brunello Cucinelli.

Jackets, trenchcoats and outerwear set this collection in motion. Brunello Cucinelli Fall 2016 is completely wearable, but that's not surprising. Cucinelli is always classic, yet modern, making his collections timeless. The tailoring is always impeccable and what excites me most is in the way the looks are styled. So much layering. Suits worn with cardigans, puffer vests over jackets, sweaters wrapped around the waist with cashmere jogger pants - it all works. And it all makes a statement for superior sartorial elegance. Casual with a sophisticated flair.

E. Tautz Menswear Fall 2016

E. Tautz designer, Patrick Grant, brought the '80s back for Fall 2016. Well, the dressier side of the '80s. I lived through it the first time and must admit that it's kind of refreshing to see it work its way back into the fashion world. For (us) dapper dudes who've embraced fashion and the "trends" that come with it, this E. Tautz collection (just like Christopher Kane's from earlier in the week) introduce a departure from the form-fitted skinny. E. Tautz gives us high-waisted pleated pants. Yes, you've heard correctly. Also, loose fitting coats and jackets, with pocket and zippers and elements reminiscent of the era. To keep things modern (and not costumey) the shoes, choice of fabrics and styling, is contemporary.

Christopher Kane Menswear Fall 2016

If you've been following Christopher Kane's career, or at least, read this blog regularly, then you already know that there is a conscious and purposeful correlation between Christopher Kane womenswear and menswear. For Fall 2016 menswear he gave us pops of neon, (extra long) nylon belts and crashed car imagery - all elements from his recent pre-fall womenswear collection. As always, there is a streetwear meets fine tailoring edge to Christopher Kane. It's modern and very appealing. This time, with his menswear collection, Kane introduced wide-legged pants. Could this be the beginning of the end of the skinny pant? In addition to impeccable tailoring, something that is equally consistent with Christopher Kane is his approach to styling perfection. You want to wear his clothes. I do.

Golden Globes 2016 Fashion Recap

The kick-off to award season also means the start of red carpet fashion. Last night's Golden Globes had more fashion hits than misses, so overall, I'd say we're off to a good start! Jennifer Lawrence looked red hot in Dior and sporting a lighter shade of blonde. She is really coming into her own on the fashion front. Jennifer Lopez, stepped outside her comfort zone and embraced a mustard-yellow Giambattista Valli gown. She was stunning. Perfection from head-to-toe, so before all the haters start [or continue] to comment on JLo... check your personal insecurities at the door. Julianne Moore is always flawless and in Tom Ford, so would you. Alicia Vikander made Loius Vuitton proud and Lady Gaga was sophisticated in Versace.

The unfortunates of the evening, just to name a few+, because there were more than a few, were Zendaya, Bryce Dallas Howard, Maura Tierney, Katy Pery and Kate Hudson.

Zendaya is nothing more than a spoiled little girl playing dress up in women's clothing. Go away.

Bryce Dallas Howard bragged about shopping for her Jenny Packham at Neimans. Jenny must have been horrified at how frumpy she made her frock look. Bryce argued that as a size six she wanted choices... bitch please, you've got daddy money and can afford to have any designer dress you. Bryce look better in her Jurassic World white suit running through the mud and being chased by dinosaurs than she did on the red carpet in her old lady dress.

Kate Hudson must be going through a mid-life crisis because she looked like an old hooker. I mean, cougar. An old cougar. Cover up!

And speaking of covering up... Katy Pery had too much hair and too much 'Globes'... Did Prada run out of fabric?

But, the worst of the worst goes to Maura Tierney. Did you notice that no one bothered asking who dressed her? Goodwill? Salvation Army thrift stores? And what about that hair?? Ladies, you know when you go to the gym and you pull up your hair to get it out of the way?

Craig Green Fall 2016 Menswear

Nothing lasts forever, especially clothing, something that Craig Green addressed for Fall 2016. The pieces that are seemingly held together with grommets and laces imply evidence of temporary fashion. They can be torn away. Removed. In contrast, the opening look and others like, appear to serve as armor. Strapped in for protection. Thoughts and ideas are the foundation of creativity and I love when fashion embraces the concept. Thank you Craig Green!
