LUPITA NYONG'O FOR VOGUE MAGAZINE

Lupita just took my breath away! You?? I mean... seriously, she is absolutely stunning in her Vogue Magazine spread. It's her second time gracing the coveted cover. The images shot for the October issue of Vogue by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott left me in a daze. They're just fabulous. So exquisite! They're serious and they're jovial at the same time. Oh how I wish I would have been there! And talking about serious, Valentino, Gaultier, Schiaparelli, just to name a few of the amazing labels Lupita made her own. She just seems so natural, elegant, graceful. Lupita talks about "Hollywood and Fashion" in the Vogue article, which I will read after I stop swooning over the photos.

Look through the photos in the slideshow above and tell me which are your faves! I am obsessing over the Dolce & Gabbana cape, the image of Lupita in Elsa Schiaparelli's apartment, the jaw-dropping red Valentino gown and the photo with the Gaultier sculpted skirt. I can't pick a favorite!

Onepiece Debuts SLOW / MOTION Collection for Autumn/Winter 2015

Globally recognized and celebrity adored leisurewear brand, Onepiece, is proud to announce the launch of their ‘SLOW/MOTION’ collection for Autumn/Winter 2015. The collection pairs an updated, futuristic, technical styling with unparalleled quality for a full line of men’s, women’s and unisex separates, outerwear and accessories, as well as numerous updated styles of the brand’s infamous jumpsuits.

SLOW / MOTION was inspired by the duality of expression, as something that moves fast but is seen slow. With a keen attention to fine detailing, texture and silhouette, the collection inspires people to take time to appreciate the extraordinary within the ordinary. Only by slowing down the fast pace of life, and analyzing the world on a smaller, slower scale, are people able to find and expose their individuality and be comfortable in living outside the norm. Onepiece sees this comfort as empowering and believes that it is comfort that brings confidence. Therefore, comfort is a major cornerstone to most achievements and the foundation to the SLOW / MOTION collection.

“Eight years ago, Onepiece was founded as an anti-fashion concept based around the art of slacker counter-culture. We were fed up with the social stress of the post y2k era, where people seemed to measure their worth with how busy and important they were. Fashion was laser sharp, bodies were supposed to be perfectly trimmed and our hearts were supposed to be cold as ice. We wanted to be the opposite of that. We wanted everything that fashion wasn’t. We offered a single product with a single cut. We had nothing to do with the fashion industry, and we wanted to be as far from it as possible. Our rebellion took the world by storm, and our jumpsuits quickly grew from an underground movement to a worldwide phenomenon” explained Onepiece Co-Founder Thomas Martin Adams. “Now that Onepiece has grown into the global brand it is today, we too have done some maturing. Maybe we are a bit less naive, as we certainly carry less of an anti-statement these days. We believe that the SLOW / MOTION collection perfectly captures the growth and updated aesthetic of the Onepiece brand, without losing site of the confident, strong, unique and independent personalities that we have always been inspired by.”

It was a black tie finale at So You Think You Can Dance. The ladies were glam, but the guys really pulled out all the stops, especially Jason and Travis in Dolce & Gabbana and Armani tuxedos. Nigel's Ralph Lauren pants could have fit better but I'll give him a pass since his Tallia Orange blazer was smashing.

Last night, Team Street’s Gaby Diaz was crowned “America’s Favorite Dancer.” The prize package includes $250,000, the cover of Dance Spirit Magazine, and the opportunity to perform in Jennifer Lopez’s exciting new residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Celebrating its momentous 12th season and its exciting new Stage v. 8 of the Best Winter Fashion Tips

fashion tips for winter fashionado

by guest author: Alex

The nights are colder and the days are getting darker, which can only mean one thing; winter is here. Some people love winter, but normal people much prefer the warmer days. Dressing for warmer days is easier too; you can get away with throwing just about anything on and look great. Winter is a different story. You need to stay warm and comfortable while looking chic. To help you out, here are 8 of the best winter fashion tips:

1. Make Sure Your Outfits are Balanced Out

As you’ll want to stay warm during winter, it’s easy to end up being drowned by different fabrics. If you ensure your outfits are balanced out, you’ll look much better. You can balance your outfits out by making sure you wear something tighter on the bottom if you’re going baggier on the top, and vice versa.

2. Learn How to Layer Up

Layering is one of the most useful winter fashion tips you can use. Knowing how to layer will instantly make your outfits more interesting. You can then add layers or take them away depending on how cold the weather actually is.

3. Include a Pop of Colour

The weather doesn’t mean you should stop wearing colour completely. Why stick to blacks and greys and make life seem duller than it actually is? Include a pop of color and you’ll feel much better about the cold weather! Even just wearing a brightly coloured bag could make your outfit stand out.

4. Use Lots of Texture to add Interest

One of my favourite things about winter is wearing lots of texture. Texture helps to add depth to outfits and make them look so much more interesting. I love to wear leather, faux fur, and other wintery textures to amp up my looks. This sort of look can be created with Irish clothing too.

5. Always Accessorize

Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you should forget to accessorize. You can accessorize using scarves, hats, gloves, and even statement rings/necklaces.

6. Try to Show off Your Shape

Something I always notice about people during winter, is that they usually disguise their shape with their clothes. This can lead some people to look dowdy or frumpy, which isn’t ever a good look! Try to show off your shape by using a belt outside of your jacket, or on the next layer of your outfit. Looking hourglass is always a good thing!

7. Experiment With Scarves

Experiment with different scarves of patterns, lengths, and thickness to make a statement. You can tie them lots of different ways too, so you can look different each and every time you wear one!

8. Let Your Boots Do the Talking

I love wearing statement boots. Pick a pair you love and then let them do the talking with your outfits. Over the knee boots are set to be huge again this year!

Use these tips this winter and you’ll love the way your outfits look. Leave any tips of your own below!

4 Fashion Trends That Will Never Go Out Of Style

fashion trends fashionado

It’s often said that fashion is like history. It often repeats itself, so styles skip a decade and then come back into fashion. There is certainly evidence to support this when you look at things like the mini skirt, high shorts and tartans amongst others. But, eventually these will fall out of style again until they re-enter fashion in a few years time. However, there are things that never go out of style. You can pull them out of your wardrobe and wear them or use them no matter what year it is. Let’s look at a few of these items, some of which might be worth a purchase.

Anything Made Of Leather

Leather goods are hardly ever seen as unfashionable. For whatever reason they seem to ooze appeal. Whether you are rocking a stylish leather carry bag or even a cover for your tablet, you’re always going to be in with the trends. But the prime example of a leather item that will always be stylish is the leather jacket. We bet you have got at least one tucked in your wardrobe that you pull out every now and then. Why wouldn’t you? It’s always going to be in fashion, no matter what type of jacket you have got. It could be a bomber jacket from the 70’s or punk leather from the 80’s and you can still wear it today.

If It Fits It Sticks

We know there have been trends where it has been cool to wear clothing that is either incredibly baggy or tight. But what will always be fashionable is wearing clothes that fit. This is how they look their best and stylists know this. Sure, on occasion you may see people wearing jeans hanging off their bottom or a t shirt four sizes too big to cover it. But, we all know that when clothing fits it will always make whoever is wearing it look instantly more stylish. Certainly if you want to look like a gentleman, this is the route to take.

Animal Prints

Like them or loathe them, and goodness knows there are many who can’t stand them, animal prints are always going to be in style. We don’t know what it is about them. It could be that they are linked to being racy and generating sex appeal. Or, it might be that animal prints are actually neutral colors so you can wear them at anytime, anywhere. Of course, these days fashion experts often claim less is more. So, if you are thinking about animal prints, a small accessory is a better choice than a full outfit.

Converse

Finally, it seems unlikely that these will ever go out of style because they have been vintage for a while now. They’re still popular today and while the colors may change, the overall look never does. That’s something that you can’t say about many other shoe brands. It’s why we’re sure that twenty years from now people will still be wearing the shoes star basketball players used to rock. Afterall David Tennant has already embedded them in pop culture with his incarnation of Doctor Who.

Kate Spade New York blooms at NYFW

This season, Kate Spade New York partnered with iconic floral brand FTD to bring 30,000 fresh flowers to New York Fashion Week. Flowers from FTD in hues of blue, coral, yellow and more lined Kate Spade New York’s Spring 2016 fashion presentation, which featured looks inspired by NYC’s bright, colorful flower bodegas. "After a harsh winter, when that first day of spring breaks, how relieved we all are to buy our first flowers at the bodega,” said Kate Spade New York. Floral patterns and motifs made their way onto dresses, skirts, jumpsuits and accessories. Smart, sassy and pretty.

The flowers were a focal point of the presentation and guests in attendance received a handmade bouquet of FTD blooms, arranged on the spot at a custom flower bar. After the presentation, FTD and Kate Spade New York hit the NYC streets in a branded truck to hand out fresh bouquets around the city.
